American Music Awards Jennifer Lopez Hosts ABC’s 2015 AMA’s, With Hot Performances By Carrie Underwood, Demi Lovato, And Cold Play


The American Music Awards 2015, known as the AMA’s, will be aired live on Sunday, November 22, on the ABC Network. Hosted by stunning actress, singer, and dancer Jennifer Lopez (Jlo), the American Music Awards will offer an array of amazing and electrifying performances and appearances. Only the best in today’s music entertainment industry will be recognized for their contributions to America’s popular music culture. The AMA’s is a well-respected annual awards show that began airing in the mid-1970s with Dick Clark. Some of the most notable past hosts include Smokey Robinson, Helen Reddy, Keenen Ivory Wayans, and Pitbull. This year, ABC fans will be ecstatic to see their favorite Latina hosting the awards show.

Various performers are set to light up the stage and keep you dancing in your seats at this year’s American Music Awards, with sizzling hot performances by Coldplay, Jennifer Lopez, Selena Gomez, Justin Bieber, 5 Seconds of Summer, Demi Lovato, Nick Jonas, Gwen Stefani, One Direction, Alanis Morissette, Carrie Underwood, The Weeknd, and Pentatonix. You’ll also hear some wonderful collaborations from Macklemore and Ryan Lewis, Meghan Trainor and Charlie Puth, and Luke Bryan featuring Karen Fairchild.

The 2015 American Music Awards nominees will be judged across several categories, such as Favorite Male Artist/Pop Rock (Ed Sheeran, Sam Smith, and Nick Jonas) and Favorite Female Artist/Pop Rock: (Meghan Trainor, Taylor Swift, and Ariana Grande).

American Music Awards Favorite Song of the Year nominees are “When I See You Again” by Whiz Kalifa and Charlie Puth, “Uptown Funk” by Mark Ronson featuring Bruno Mars, and “Thinking Out Loud” by Ed Sheeran.

The public will also be casting their votes for New Artist of the Year nominees, including Sam Hunt, Tove Lo, Fetty Wap, The Weeknd, and Walk the Moon. The nominees for Artist of the Year are Nicki Minaj, Ariana Grande, Luke Bryan, One Direction, Taylor Swift, Meghan Trainor, The Weeknd, Sam Smith, Maroon 5, and Ed Sheeran.

Don’t leave out the amazing country categories, including Favorite Male Artist/Country (Jason Aldean, Sam Hunt, and Luke Bryan) and Favorite Female Artist/Country (Carrie Underwood, Miranda Lambert, and Kelsea Ballerini.)

The American Music Awards would not be complete without the Favorite Artist Rap/Hip Hop category (Drake, Nicki Minaj, and Fetty Wap) and Favorite Male Artist Soul/R&B (Trey Songz, Chris Brown, and The Weeknd). In the Favorite Female Artist Soul/R&B category, people will cast their votes for Beyoncé, Mary J. Blige, and Rihanna.

Music soundtracks were also hot this past year, including Empire‘s Original Soundtrack: Season 1, Pitch Perfect 2, and Fifty Shades of Grey.

Some added treats that ABC viewers can enjoy include a special performance in French by renowned singer Celine Dion in memory of those victims who were killed during the Paris attacks, according to Billboard.
