Charlie Sheen HIV Positive? Actor Reportedly Set To Reveal HIV Status On ‘Today’ Show, Source Claims

Charlie Sheen may be HIV positive and ready to come forward with his health news, a new report is claiming.

The controversial actor has been known for his fast-paced lifestyle, with a self-admitted penchant for drugs and prostitutes. Now, a report from TMZ is claiming that the lifestyle has caught up with Sheen, who will be going public with news that he has HIV.

The report claimed that Charlie Sheen is planning to reveal his HIV status during an interview on the Today show on Tuesday.

“Sources connected to NBC’s Today tell TMZ… Sheen will sit down with Matt Lauer on Tuesday morning to make the announcement.

“NBC touted the interview in a press release as Sheen making a ‘revealing personal announcement.’

“A tabloid report came out Monday claiming Sheen’s been keeping the diagnosis secret for years. You’ve gotta imagine he’ll address that report tomorrow morning on Today.”

People magazine has also independently reported on Sheen’s alleged HIV status, citing a sources close to Sheen.

The magazine also quoted report from Hollywood publicist and crisis manager Howard Bragman, who told People that Sheen’s HIV announcement could open the gate for legal battles against the actor.

“The interview could open up a lot of sympathy for him, but he has to be concerned about a fear of litigation from former sexual partners. You don’t take that lightly,” he said.

There is no confirmation of the rumor, but in the past Sheen has been open about his partying and substance abuse. He reportedly even helped Jon Cryer get over a divorce by offering to send prostitutes to the Two and a Half Men co-star.

“I was in a bad state right after my divorce, and I certainly didn’t feel dateable,” Cryer, 49, wrote in the memoir (via the Hollywood Reporter). “I was an emotional basket case … I decided I might as well pay someone for company and certain intimate pleasures so that I could at least get my equilibrium back with the opposite sex. Charlie suggested a few online purveyors he used, as this was when prostitution was gaining a foothold on the Internet.”

Cryer said he eventually had a falling out with Charlie Sheen, who had a very famous feud with the show’s creator, Chuck Lorre. Cryer noted that a large number of people stuck up for Sheen at the time, even as the actor was sliding on his responsibilities and being verbally abusive to his co-workers.

This also came at the time of Sheen’s well-publicized public meltdown, which included a seemingly bizarre reference that he had “tiger blood.”

Now a source has told Hollywood Life that the meltdown coincided with Sheen’s learning of his HIV diagnosis.

“The ‘tiger blood’ reference was when he found out and he said it and used it to prove his invincibility,” said the source. “He honestly didn’t accept the fact that he had it and was convincing himself in every way that he didn’t have it.”

Sheen has since had some very public ups and downs in recent years, including celebrating his 50th birthday and some very public animosity with his ex, Denise Richards.

If Charlie Sheen is HIV positive, it seems some in Hollywood and close to the actor may have already known about it. The People report suggested that he has been receiving treatment for some time, and revealed his health battle with some close to him.
