WWE News: WWE Superstar Cesaro Leading WWE Poll Asking Who Fans Want To Become The Next WWE World Champ

WWE superstar Cesaro has been killing it all year. Whether he has been in a tag team or on his own, Cesaro has shined. Since his tag partner Tyson Kidd went down with a serious neck injury, Cesaro has been just doing amazing work the likes we’ve never seen him do before. Every match he has done since has been 4- to 5-star when given time. Whether it’s John Cena, Randy Orton, Kevin Owens, or whomever, Cesaro has had a great match with them. This potentially in tribute to his fallen tag partner.

It should come as no surprise that fans have been calling for Cesaro to get rewarded for his hard work. Quietly, Cesaro has started to become quite a popular superstar. On The Stone Cold Podcast around a year ago, Austin asked WWE Chairman and CEO Vince McMahon about Cesaro and what the issue was with him and WWE and why he wasn’t used well.

Vince said Cesaro was missing that little something and was not connecting to the crowd. Now that he has that special something, could Cesaro now finally be ready for the big one? According to a WWE.com poll, he might just be.

The company put up a poll asking fans who they wanted to see as the next WWE World Heavyweight Champion. WWE is in the middle of a big WWE Survivor Series tournament of course. The poll has several names, from Dean Ambrose to Roman Reigns, Cesaro, and more. Reigns was leading earlier today when the poll went up but has since been pushed down in favor of Cesaro, who so far has 36% of the 28,000 votes cast thus far.

Dean Ambrose is in second, followed by Roman Reigns at the third spot. Obviously many want to see Ambrose win the WWE World Title, and it has been asked by WWE fans for about a year now. However, Cesaro has come on so quickly that fans are seeing him destroy matches on a weekly basis. Win or lose, you see people talk about Cesaro. That says a lot about a guy when fans couldn’t care less that a man wins or loses, but still believe he is worthy of more.

Ladies and gentlemen, it does not technically matter who wins and loses in a sport that is pre-determined as part of the event itself. Many know how it works by now, so WWE handing a person a win or loss truly means nothing regarding how they look to a fan. unless they are casual or happen to be under the age of 12. Vince McMahon and the entire creative team seem to think it does matter, which is why they continue to push people down our throats the same way over and over.

Meanwhile, Cesaro has not been shoved, but he does appear on television weekly, and it does seem that WWE is now seeing the power he possesses as a potential top star one day. Many have claimed that Cesaro’s age plays a big factor in him potentially holding the WWE World Heavyweight Title, however he is younger than Sheamus the current Money in the Bank holder as well as people like Randy Orton and John Cena at age 34. He is only four to five years older than The Shield trio of workers as well.

If all three of them can hold yet another WWE World Title, then why can’t Cesaro? It would only help to build another star in a time when stars are sorely needed on the main roster. Stars are dropping like flies, and it might be as good a time as any to develop a new one while the fans are into them. You could miss Cesaro’s window, and if he becomes an afterthought now, it is because WWE itself dropped the ball knowing it could have thrown it his way to have an easy lay-up.
