Rihanna may have canceled her performance for this year’s Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show in order to finish work on her eighth studio album, ANTI, but did Rihanna just drop a major hint about ANTI‘s impending release on Snapchat?
Rihanna took to Snapchat on Tuesday to share a brief video of herself riding in a car while listening to her 2009 Rated R hit, “Wait Your Turn,” which features lyrics like, “So you don’t wanna wait / I hate to hear / That’s such a shame / The time is now / And now / The wait is over / The wait is over.”
While some fans were disappointed that the track playing in Rihanna’s Snapchat video wasn’t a snippet of a new single, other fans took to Twitter to speculate that Rihanna may be teasing that the “wait is over” for ANTI‘s release with the hashtag, “#TheWaitIsOver.”

Rihanna’s Snapchat video is just the latest tease for eager fans who have been waiting almost three years for a new album from Rihanna following 2012’s Unapologetic.
While rumors of a surprise release for Rihanna’s new album have been circulating since last year, Rihanna’s father, Ronald Fenty, seemingly shot down rumors of a November release for Rihanna’s ANTI album in an interview with the Sun, via Unreality TV.
When asked about the status of Rihanna’s new album, Rihanna’s father explained that Rihanna is “not happy with the album” thus far, and that she’s “still looking for fresh material.”
The news comes on the heels of reports that suggest Rihanna cancelled her scheduled Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show performance in order to work on ANTI.
A source close to Rihanna revealed to Page Six that Rihanna is “still working on some stuff and [the music] isn’t to a point where she wants to perform it.”
“Things are supposed to be further along, but she’s still not ready.”
Rumors of further delay for Rihanna’s new album did not sit well with fans, seeing as some took to Twitter to express their dissatisfaction with Rihanna’s lack of news regarding ANTI, despite continuing to tease new projects on Instagram and Twitter.
Rihanna unveiled the cover art for her highly anticipated ANTI album during a private event in Los Angeles last month, further igniting rumors that Rihanna would follow her historic trend of releasing her albums in November.
After sources close to Rihanna shot down rumors suggesting that ANTI would drop on November 6, reports also began surfacing alleging that Rihanna may avoid a November release date altogether given One Direction, Justin Bieber, and Adele’s new albums are all ready to drop in the next few weeks.
Rihanna’s VSFS cancellation, coupled with her father’s promises that the album is not finished, may have left Rihanna fans impatient, but it seems Rihanna has no shame in teasing fans on social media.
While fans will have to wait and see if Rihanna provides further confirmation regarding ANTI‘s release, new speculation is also suggesting that Rihanna may debut some new music during this year’s annual Diamond Ball event to raise money for Rihanna’s Clara Lionel Foundation.
People confirms that Rihanna is teaming up with Lionel Richie and Kevin Hart for her second annual Diamond Ball Charity Benefit on December 10, which is set to take place in Santa Monica, California.
Despite Rihanna continuing to keep mum regarding any updates on ANTI‘s progress, it appears Rihanna is well aware that her fans are begging for an imminent surprise release of ANTI as soon as possible.
Do you think Rihanna is teasing that ANTI is coming soon, or will she wait until 2016 to drop her new album?
