See Dates: Justin Bieber Officially Announces Purpose World Tour On ‘Ellen’ [Video]

If you’re a Justin Bieber fan, this week is everything. The superstar announced his new “Purpose World Tour” in support of his forthcoming Purpose album, during the Wednesday-airing edition of The Ellen DeGeneres Show.

The Biebs is appearing on DeGeneres’ TV show every day this week in a #BieberWeek drive ending Friday, November 13 when Purpose officially drops. That same day, the singer will perform an outdoor concert on the show and two special events at Los Angeles’ Staples Center to celebrate the release.

The highly anticipated Purpose album has already received some great reviews. The LP includes the hits “What Do You Mean?” “Sorry,” the EDM banger “Where Are U Now?” and newest releases “I’ll Show You,” a duet with indie-pop darling Halsey “The Feeling,” and “Love Yourself,” which was co-penned by British star Ed Sheeran and Bieber.

On the clip below, the Biebs reveals his “Purpose World Tour” in adorably dorky fashion on DeGeneres’ show.

Asked if he had a big announcement to make, the now blond-not-platinum-coiffed singer replied, “I do, yeah, I’m actually doing on tour. That’s my big news.”

Amid cheers and applause from the studio audience, Ellen said she was excited for her guest’s upcoming world trek. She then asked the 21-year-old when his “Purpose World Tour” kicks off. This is where things got funny. In a good way.

“I will start this tour,” Bieber said, dragging out his words as he gradually realized he’d forgotten the start date. The day was saved with a screen graphic appearing on-screen, revealing the “Purpose World Tour” begins March 9.

“Oh gosh,” Biebs said, adding ruefully, “This is the only thing I had to remember and I don’t remember it.”

He asked DeGeneres “Do you know?” before posing the same question to his team, who were out of shot. “You can go to my website to find out,” Bieber added, to the by-now laughing audience.

“What am I doing?” The Canadian comically went on. “I’m here to promote an album and a tour and I’m not doing that.”

At that point, his host mercifully reiterated excitement for Bieber’s tour. Ellen also directed viewers to her website ellentv.com for details on an Amex offer which gives entrants — with the correct code, “EllenJB” — first availability for tour tickets when they go on sale next week. DeGeneres then announced that the studio audience would be given free tickets to the singer’s Staples Center shows.

U.S. leg tour stops (so far) are listed at Justin Bieber’s official website. After the two Staples Center shows (reportedly there are now four slated) on November 13, the Biebs will play The 02 in London, England for Capital FM Radio’s Jingle Ball 2015. The Purpose tour kicks off with 58 U.S. leg dates on March 9, 2016 in Seattle. The first U.S. leg ends May 19. It resumes on June 11 in Winnipeg, Canada.

International dates will be added later. Tickets will be available from Monday, November 16, for American Express Card Members. General tickets go on sale November 20. Prices range from between $48 to $127. See the schedule so far here and below.

Meanwhile, four lucky Justin Bieber superfans totally freaked out on the Tuesday-airing edition of Ellen when they were surprised with VIP tickets to the singer’s Staples Center shows by the pop prince himself.

In the video shown below, each female fan is seen explaining hyper-excitedly on-camera exactly why they love the Biebs. Unbeknownst to them, the heartthrob was hidden in another before he walked out and surprised the fans from behind. You can guess what happened next.

Screams, whoops, tears, hugs declarations of undying love, the clip shows the funny and sweet reactions of each girl, as they talk about the Justin Bieber his fans know him to predominantly be, rather one-dimensional figure oft-misreported.

One girl gets surprised by the Biebs just as she’s waxing lyrical about referring to him as her “husband.” Another girl asked him, “Are you real?” At the end of the love-in, the fans gushed their gratitude to Ellen after the prank-loving singer went backstage where he was seen giggling to himself.
