Gwen Stefani Finally Speaks Up On Romance With Blake Shelton

Gwen Stefani has finally broken her silence on her romance with Blake Shelton, two days after reps for the couple confirmed that the two are dating.

As reported in an ET exclusive on Friday, Gwen opened up in a radio interview with Dallas/Fort Worth radio station 103.7 KVIL that is scheduled to air on Monday at 4 p.m. When asked by #Uncorked hosts Leigh Ann and Courtney about Shelton, one of her co-hosts in NBC’s The Voice, Stefani said, “He’s a pretty rad guy, I have to say that.”

“There’s been loads of people that have helped me with this tragedy,” says Stefani of the divorce proceedings with ex-husband Gavin Rossdale that has been recently finalized. “There’s definitely key people that have pointed me into the right direction. Blake really helped me. Not to change the subject, but it’s kinda on the same subject, Pharrell was literally like a guardian angel.”

Gwen also revealed in the interview that announcing the relationship with Blake with a rep wasn’t part of their plans.

“We didn’t! Like, somebody did. That’s what’s so crazy like, who announces that? Why would I do that?”

As recently reported in the Inquisitr, Gwen Stefani’s rep broke the news about her relationship status with Blake Shelton to Us Weekly.

“Gwen and Blake are longtime friends who have very recently started dating.”

A rep for Blake Shelton also confirmed to ET the news that the two are officially an item.

The news had a long trail of smoke that lasted two weeks before it was confirmed. Speculation spread like wildfire on whether the two were having a romantic tryst following reports that Stefani and Shelton traveled together from Los Angeles, California, to Nashville, Tennessee, on Tuesday.

Dating rumors followed Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton everywhere as they promoted the current season of The Voice. When both performed a duet of Drake’s hit song “Hotline Bling”on the Tonight Show last week, tongues started to wag with relentless abandon. Gwen and Blake were also spotted walking hand in hand while leaving a Halloween party over the weekend, which just about made their relationship status an open secret.

Recent reports saying that the new couple wrote a new country single together broke a few days ago. When asked about it in the interview, Gwen Stefani denied the reports with an emphatic “No!”

“He’s not writing on my record,” she said.

The radio hosts then asked Gwen a barrage of questions. One of the questions was more than clever, as it obviously referenced her ex, Gavin Rossdale: “Southern men or British men?”

“Oh, that’s such a funny question!” Stefani said, clearly picking up on the Gavin reference. “Let’s see, I would say if I had to choose, Southern.”

Gwen and Blake officially stepped out as a couple as they were seen walking hand in hand on Wednesday at a CMA after-party in Nashville, Tennessee.

The couple were in casual clothing, with Gwen Stefani wearing a pair of jeans, a black jacket, and a black top, while Shelton wore a gray button-down shirt and a pair of jeans.

“They were very comfortable with each other,” says a source.

An insider for People added, “They’ve been supporting each other through a difficult time and they’re really happy together.”

A romantic relationship can only get better when you have close friends to support you. Adam Levine, who co-hosts The Voice with Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton, showed his all-out support for the new couple in an interview with Ryan Seacrest on the radio show On Air With Ryan Seacrest, as recently reported in Billboard.

“They’re my friends. Gwen and I have really bonded lately. She’s just the coolest, most wonderful person ever and people don’t really realize that they are humans and they have problems just like everybody else. I love my friends and I support my friends through everything. I’ve been actually really enjoying getting to know Gwen better in the past two months.”
