WWE News: WWE Planning For Dean Ambrose And Kevin Owens Rivalry For The WWE Intercontinental Championship

It should come as no surprise to anyone that WWE is looking for everything they can to increase ratings. Many fans believe a perfect way to increase them is to use a man by the name of Dean Ambrose in a bigger way. WWE has yet to truly use him in ways that fans can really see him as a top star. He is well worth the investment, as he loves the WWE and has done everything asked of him without once complaining about anything.

Many backstage stick up for him all the time, and have mentioned countless times that Ambrose deserves better. He may now finally get what he deserves in a rivalry with Kevin Owens. According to Cageside Seats, WWE is scrapping the plans of a Dean Ambrose heel turn for now. The idea was to try this out fairly soon, but since Roman Reigns is now entering a rivalry with Seth Rollins, the heel turn is being moved. When it will be done is not yet known.

The plan as of now is to put him into a rivalry with Kevin Owens, where the WWE Intercontinental Championship will be fought over. For those unaware, Dean Ambrose happens to be one of the longest-reigning WWE United States Champions in recent memory. Although he did not defend the title all the time, due to The Shield being involved in a lot of other activities, he did defend it enough for a heel champion. He did turn face at the time he lost it, however. This was due to Triple H putting him in a battle royal for the title, and Sheamus walked out the victor in the match after eliminating Ambrose.

Ambrose has yet to hold gold since.

Many believe he is worthy of a championship at this point, and he very well could elevate the IC Title, which Daniel Bryan was going to be tasked with before getting hurt last Spring. Dean Ambrose and Kevin Owens working together would be great for fans, as the matches and what they are both willing to do together could be a lot of fun. Both men are from the world of independents.

Dean Ambrose worked in places like Heartland Wrestling Association and CZW, and he even spent time in Full Impact Wrestling. Meanwhile, Kevin Owens working all across the world in Ring of Honor, Pro Wrestling Guerrilla, but also spent time in CZW.

Both men were quite traveled when they ended up in WWE, and it truly helped both men a lot. You can tell that both Dean Ambrose and Kevin Owens have a lot to offer with their rivals, and you always want to see what they’ll do next, because everything they are part of seems to be must-see. Now we’re seeing both of them put together? That can only mean good things for WWE, who truly needs a marquee rivalry outside of their WWE World Title rivalries.

It is uncertain when WWE will start the program with the two of them, but it very well could happen very soon. Many have assumed that WWE would put Dean Ambrose with The Undertaker and Kane as they team up against The Wyatt Family at WWE Survivor Series later this month. If WWE went with Dean Ambrose and Kevin Owens at Survivor Series, it would make a lot of people wonder who would be on the side of the Deadman and Demon, as it was always assumed Ambrose would be part of it.

It does throw a good monkey wrench into plans, which can usually be a good thing at the end of the day. Of course knowing WWE, that is not always the case.
