Pregnant Jessa Duggar Seewald celebrated her 23rd birthday with husband Ben Seewald without any signs that a little Jessa or tiny Ben was ready to make an appearance in the world. Several days past her original due date of November 1, Jessa Duggar had a party lunch and scrumptious chocolate ice cream sundae with several of her sisters, as well as Anna Duggar, wife of the infamous Josh Duggar, reported the Daily Mail.
With her baby bump continuing to blossom, Jessa was joined by Jana, Jinger, and Jordyn, as well. As for dieting while she waits the final hours or days for the baby to arrive? Not in this Duggar daughter's vocabulary, apparently.
From whipped cream on her sundae to eating with gusto, Jessa made it clear that she feels birthdays are the time for sweets.
"Sharing a birthday dessert with my little Jordyn buddy! #ChocolateMess #MarketplaceGrill," shared Jessa on social media.
Duggar matriarch Michelle and patriarch Jim Bob also added their happy birthday wishes to Jessa via social media, reported Entertainment Tonight.
"This girl has always brought life to our house and everywhere she goes.We are so thankful for the young lady she has become. We love the happiness she has found with Ben and their devotion to the Lord. We are especially excited to meet a new grandbaby soon!!! Jessa will certainly be a wonderful mom."Beyond the chocolate sundae for her birthday, Jessa has been stoking up for labor with tacos.
Prior to that, Jessa and Ben celebrated their first wedding anniversary with French fries and ice cream, as the Inquisitr reported.
But amid her celebrations as she remains on baby watch, Jessa secretly is scared of the home birth expectations of the Duggar family, according to Fashion & Style.
Recently, Jessa learned from her mother-in-law that Ben weighed eight pounds, 15 ounces, when he was born, and Jessa confessed that she was the largest baby of the entire 19 Kids And Counting clan. She posted an exchange of messages showing her fear of having a "gigantic" baby.
"I was the biggest out of all my siblings," mused Duggar. "I'd say it's possible we could have a chubby little baby!"
Although Jill is a certified midwife, she won't be there when Jessa has her first baby because she and Derick, along with baby Israel, are back in Central America on a mission.
Abandoned by her sister, Jessa also is aware that Jill struggled for two agonizing days to have her own first baby with a home delivery before she had an emergency C-section at a hospital. With that history of her sister's own painful labor, Jessa fears she may be in for a rough time as well, although she shared her amusement in the photo below at tabloids claiming she already had the baby.
This stress comes at a time when she along with the rest of the Duggar family have survived months of turmoil and scandal. It began when reports surfaced that Josh Duggar had molested five underage girls. Jessa and Jill self-identified as two of the sisters he molested. TLC subsequently cancelled 19 Kids And Counting.
Following that, new revelations came that Josh had used the Ashley Madison site for infidelity, cheated on his wife Anna, and had an addiction to porn. He subsequently entered a Bible-based treatment program for sex addiction, where he remains.
However, although the camera lights are, for now, turned off when it comes to the exploits of Josh, TLC announced it will focus on Jessa and Jill in a new series of specials that begin in December, reported the Associated Press.
Both the mission work of 24-year-old Jill and Derick, along with Jessa and Ben's excitement as they welcome their first baby, will be featured. And for those who wonder whether Josh will benefit from the scandals, an insider said that he will be banned from the specials, as well as future programs produced by TLC.
"What we will be following in these specials is Jessa preparing for her first child, and we'll be watching Jill preparing to make a major move to Central America with her family, which we know is something our audience will be interested in," emphasized TLC Executive Vice President and General Manager Nancy Daniels.
