One Direction Adamant That They Will Be Back After A Break

One Direction fans across the world have been feeling anxious ever since the boy-band announced that they are taking a lengthy sabbatical. In many ways, One Direction’s “On The Road Again” tour has proven to be a step too far for the boys. There have been very clear signs that One Direction really need a break. There were rumors that Zayn Malik was not coping well with the pressure; as we all know, Malik walked out on One Direction just a few shows into their massive tour.

The loss of Malik obviously came as a blow to One Direction and their fans. The loss of a member meant that others had to learn Malik’s parts and make a change to well-rehearsed routines, adding to the pressures that One Direction’s members are subjected to.

It should be noted that the members of One Direction were thrust into the limelight when they were between the ages of 16 and 18-years-old. Nothing could have prepared the boys for the massive success that One Direction have enjoyed, but with that success came unimaginable pressure. Barely a day passes without the tabloids running a story about One Direction, they are pursued by both fans and paparazzi wherever they go. At times Harry Styles, Liam Payne, Niall Horan and Louis Tomlinson may feel that their lives are not their own.

As this year has gone on, it has become more and more apparent that One Direction are close to breaking point. There have been rumors about tensions behind the scenes and just today it was reported in Inquisitr that a fight between Harry Styles and Liam Payne led to One Direction cancelling a gig in Belfast last week. That cancellation was the first time that One Direction ever cancelled a show.

Some sections of the media seem determined to dredge up every piece of gossip they can find about One Direction. That situation has come even further to the fore since One Direction announced that they are to split, at least temporarily, once they complete the promotional round for their fifth album.

Just yesterday, the BBC reported that One Direction star Louis Tomlinson had been thrown out of a hotel at 4 a.m. after he allegedly trashed his room whilst drunk.

Of course, the story that the media seems most interested in is whether or not One Direction will get back together after their hiatus. Simon Cowell fueled speculations a while back when he admitted there were no firm plans in place for One Direction’s reunion.

Most One Direction fans accept that the band needed a break. To continue as they have been for the last five years would have taken an incalculable toll on these four young men. One Direction needed to go away, have a total break, pursue other interests and reform when and if they feel the time is right. Most One Direction fans will understand the necessity of the hiatus.

One Direction’s 80-date world tour, their fourth in as many years, finishes tomorrow. As a result, many media outlets, including the Belfast Telegraph, are speculating that Saturday’s performance will prove to be One Direction’s last show ever.

Faced with almost continuous speculation that One Direction is over, fans will be both relieved and delighted by Louis Tomlinson’s clear commitment on their eventual return. According to ITV News Louis is absolutely adamant that One Direction will be back.

“We fully intend to come back. We absolutely love this. We had a little sit down before and we decided that we wanted a break. We’ve had a very intense couple of years so we’re just going to have a little bit of breathing time and spend that with our families.”

“I don’t think that anyone could keep this pace up forever, so I think it’s the most healthy and constructive thing for all of us”

If Tomlinson is to be taken at his word, then this is adios to One Direction but not goodbye.
