Star Wars Battlefront Trailer Released As New Heroes And Old Villains Face Off

Electronic Arts released its first trailer for the first person shooter video game Star Wars Battlefront. The trailer features a mix of both game play and cinematics. The battles in the game take place between the Empire and the Rebel Forces and bring in characters from the original Star Wars trilogy. They include Han Solo, Darth Vader, Emperor Palpatine and Princess Leia.

Slash Film reported that Darth Vader is back to slice and dice the rebel scum. He faces off against Han Solo, who uses his signature shoulder to plow through the Imperial troops and fight for the Rebel Forces. Solo also takes some shots against Darth Vader, just as he did in Cloud City in the the fifth installment of the Star Wars movies, The Empire Strikes Back. While Han Solo faces off against Darth Vader, Princess Leia, in full Hoth gear, faces off against bounty hunter Boba Fett. Luke Skywalker faces off against Emperor Palpatine on the forest moon of Endor instead of the throne room in the Death Star. The game itself is a multiplayer game with huge levels that cause players to have to trek across large expanses to get in the battles, which are massive.

Variety reported that Han Solo and Princess Leia join the battle as new heroes are added to the game. The new trailer offers new game footage, as well as showcasing the new heroes who are available for play. They fight across various planets from the movie, including Endor, Hoth, and Tatooine, with the addition of a new planet, Sullust.

There are many references to the movies themselves, such as when Boba Fett flies over the Sarlacc pit, the place where he met his apparent end in The Return of the Jedi, and says, “That won’t happen again.” One scene pits Darth Vader against Han Solo in a scene reminiscent of the scene on Cloud City in The Empire Strikes Back.

The beta for Star Wars Battlefront began October 8, with over nine million players participating in the play. This is the third installment of the trilogy, with the last release of Star Wars Battlefront II seeing release 10 years ago. The game will be available for purchase on November 17.

As previously reported in Inquisitr, the seventh installment of the Star Wars movies, The Force Awakens, will be released on December 18, with premieres in Great Britain on December 16 and France on December 17. The latest Star Wars movie is expected to be the biggest release of all the Star Wars movies to date, and it is expected to break many movie records with its release. Rumors as to the plot and the rumored death of favorite character Han Solo have swirled around the movie, but movie goers will have to wait until the release to find out if anyone dies and who that will be.

The release of Star Wars Battlefront is expected to be a hit for Electronic Arts as the reviews from fans were favorable. Although the current game doesn’t include any footage from the battles in Jakku, that is expected to become downloadable content later. Jakku is featured in the latest installment of the Star Wars movies.
