Lamar Odom & Scott Disick Became BFFs Amid Drug Abuse, Causing Kourtney, Kim & Khloe Kardashian To Clash

Lamar Odom and Scott Disick had more than their relationship with Kardashian sisters in common. While the NBA player adored and eventually married Khloe Kardashian, who is now staying by his side as he fights for his life, Scott became the baby daddy for Kourtney Kardashian. But both the basketball superstar and Disick struggled with addiction problems that brought them together. And now that friendship is causing Kourtney and Khloe to fight, reported Hollywood Life.

The battle began during the first critical days at the Sunrise Hospital in Las Vegas after the horrifying discovery in a Nevada brothel of Lamar’s unconscious body. Kourtney then agreed with the desire that Scott had voiced to visit his old pal. But Khloe is adamantly against Disick. Adding to the issues: Scott has once again entered a rehab facility for treatment of his own problems.

And Khloe isn’t the only one against Disick. Kim Kardashian agrees with her sister, and is taking her side against Kourtney and Scott.

“It’s causing unneeded drama,” noted an insider.

But some see a silver lining in the heartbreak that’s occurred over Odom’s health crisis because Disick, aware that it reportedly was the result of a drug overdose, seems to have recognized the danger of his current situation and responded by entering a treatment facility in California. Scott made the choice to start rehab again almost immediately after he heard what had happened.

In addition to his worries about his health, Disick recognizes that if he continues down his current path of partying, alcohol, and alleged substance abuse, Kourtney will easily get sole custody of the three children that she and Scott share. She and Scott are currently estranged.

But Disick has had a long history of going in and out of rehab facilities, pointed out the Washington Post.

“Never give up,” posted Scott on Instagram in recognition of that fact.

At 32, Disick has become most famed for sticking with Kourtney for nine years and fathering three kids, but he’s also become infamous for all his problems with alcohol and drugs as well as recurring stays in rehabs.

One particularly notable recovery visit was to Costa Rica for the New Rythmia Life Advancement Center.

“While I have been unconvinced in the past of treatment and therapy methods, Rythmia’s rehab approach puts my worries at ease,” claimed Scott. “The fact that there is a money back guarantee that has never been called upon gives me even more confidence. I am looking forward to starting my therapy and iboga treatment there.”

Illegal in the U.S., Iboga supposedly can be used as an addiction treatment tool, but the plant also has psychedelic components.

Disick may have been looking forward to it, but apparently his anticipation was short-lived.

“Everybody was under the impression that I was going to Costa Rica for a month for something, but the truth was I was never planning to go for a month, I was planning to go for as long as I went, which was the week, and work on myself, and I’m not done working on myself,” insisted Scott.

Disick allegedly has gone to rehab again to avoid losing all three children. Baby Reign isn’t even a year old yet, while Penelope is 3-years-old, and his son, Mason, is 5-years-old. But an insider emphasized that seeing what happened to Odom sent a chilling message to Scott.

“[It] reinforced the fact that Scott needs to go to rehab before things get worse and he loses everything,” stressed the insider. “It really hit home.”

The two men became BFFs years ago, and Disick allegedly was urged by Lamar to get together with Kourtney because of their children’s need for their father.

At one point, the exes of the Kardashian sisters were so close that rumors swirled that they were penning a tell-all book, revealed Hollywood Life.

But although Disick contemplated writing such a manuscript and might conceivably do it if he got a multi-million dollar offer, Scott is concerned about the impact on his children, said a source.

“He doesn’t want to inadvertently hurt his kids,” added the insider.
