‘Fallout 4’ Done, Xbox One Preload And ‘Fallout 4’ Beer Now Available

We are days away from the Fallout 4 release and what better way to prepare your Xbox One consoles for the Fallout than to start preloading your game on the Xbox One?

Xbox One’s Major Nelson reported in October that the digital pre-order for Fallout 4 is already available for purchase on Xbox One, among other consoles, across different online retailers and through the Xbox One and Bethesda stores.

Purchasing the digital pre-order of Fallout 4 for the Xbox One means that you will have to download the game file, which is reportedly sized at 28.12 GB for the U.S. version. Other territories with additional language support may vary in file size, which could be as big as 35 GB. To make sure that you will be able to start playing Fallout 4 on your Xbox One as soon as it releases at midnight on November 10, you should start preloading the game as soon as today.

Gamepur reports that as of today, Fallout 4 is already completely preloadable on Xbox One. A few days ago, a Fallout 4 game file went live for download; however, it is just a small file without the actual game content. Those who pre-ordered the digital version of Fallout 4 on Xbox One should preload the file as early as today to prep your Xbox One for the official Fallout 4 release on November 10.

Another thread at Game FAQs also confirms that two days ago, some have already preloaded Fallout 4 on their Xbox One.

Why wasn’t the Fallout 4 preload available sooner? Just before this week ended, Bethesda announced that they just finished all 27 versions of Fallout 4. This may be one of the reasons why the preload of Fallout 4 on Xbox One wasn’t available until recently.

If you’re pre-ordering or have pre-ordered Fallout 4 on PlayStation 4, preloading is not yet an option at this stage. Two weeks ago, a discussion began at Game FAQs regarding the Fallout 4 preload and member SilentRain 16, who pre-ordered Fallout 4 for PlayStation 4, shared that the preload for PlayStation 4 might go live by November 8.

“Well on my digital pre-order it says playable at 8pm [Nov. 9]. Not sure of that cause elsewhere it says 12:01 am for all time zones. Nobody knows when preload will become available yet but my guess is at least 3 or more days before launch.”

Preloads and download times can be a major consideration for hardcore gamers when deciding to buy a digital or a physical copy of the game. Some people would say that the download and the preload times are a hassle when it comes to buying digital copies but once those tasks have been ticked off your list, you’re pretty much set to start playing as soon as the game is releasd. Buying a physical copy of the game from a local retailer typically sets the player back a few hours since it takes time to wait in line at the store and drive home from the game shop.

If you’ve completed preloading of Fallout 4 on your Xbox One, then you can join Bethesda and the thousands of people celebrating with a bottle of the newest Fallout 4 beer. IGN reports that the Fallout 4 developer, Bethesda, just teamed up with Carlsberg UK to create Fallout beer. Available on Amazon UK beginning November 5, the Fallout beer is a first in gaming history. Bruce Ray, corporate affairs director at Carlsberg UK, shares his thoughts.

“This is something of a world-first. Adult participation in video gaming is a truly social activity, on a par with cinema and music. We’re proud to work with Bethesda to produce a beer Fallout fans can enjoy.”
