‘Grey’s Anatomy’ Spoilers: What Happens Next After That Bomb Drop?

Grey’s Anatomy dropped a huge bomb during the last 30 seconds of the last episode, and fans have been talking about it all weekend long. When Meredith opened the door to Callie and her new girlfriend, she did not expect to find the woman that was involved in her husband’s death.

It was the car accident that caused his injuries, but it was the inept doctors at the hospital that caused his death. Another set of doctors with more knowledge on how to handle trauma cases might have saved him. The doctors at the smaller hospital were not as proficient as the staff at Grey-Sloan Memorial hospital. They did not have the same training or skill set as Meredith and her colleagues.

Meredith’s face when she opened the door and saw Penny standing there with Callie said it all. She had just given the interns a lecture on death notifications, and here stood the woman who told her that Derek Shepherd died in her care.

The moment was a bomb drop that fans did not see coming at all.

Entertainment Weekly shared some new spoilers for the upcoming episode, Grey’s Anatomy Season 12, Episode 5, titled “Guess Who’s Coming To Dinner.” Meredith will be forced to sit down to dinner with Penny and everyone else. Arizona will be worried about meeting the new woman in Callie’s life, but it is Meredith who will have the bigger cross to bear.

Sara Ramirez teased a bit about what is coming next. This may not be timed well at all, but it adds some new conflict to the drama.

“It’s a challenging discovery. She’s going to need a lot of support, and she’s going to be reactive. That’s going to create some major conflict between a lot of the doctors, including Meredith.”

Callie has been gushing about the new woman in her life for weeks. The new relationship is creating a new happiness for Callie. Dr. Torres has had a rough few seasons, but she seems to be settling into post-married life now. She has become a part of Meredith’s inner circle even more now. The two always shared a close bond but Season 12 has showed the bond becoming stronger.

There is more drama ahead on the series, as well. Maggie is sleeping with one of the interns, and that will only cause more drama in the episodes to come. The pair has tried to part and end things before they developed into a problem, but Maggie is just not able to keep her hands to herself. This little affair is showing viewers another side to Maggie.

In addition to Maggie’s affair, April and Jackson’s relationship is still in trouble. She is showing no signs of giving up on him, but he has left her behind. There is no way to know if the damage to their relationship can be repaired.

Jesse Williams spoke about the pair’s relationship and what he would like to see happen to it in a recent interview with Parade Magazine.

“They need to learn how taking care of yourself at the cost of someone else is different than just taking care of yourself. If they were to break up, I wouldn’t want that because I really like the work that we do together, Sarah and I. But if they do break up,I want them to have really exhausted it and tried and communicated. And if I was a viewer, I want to see them really try, curse each other out and then at the end of the day, that would be a stronger relationship.”

It sounds like Williams has not given up hope on Jackson and April. That is not the case for the character, though. The pair seems to have a lot of work to do if they want to repair their very broken relationship.
