Khloe Kardashian Stays At Lamar Odom’s Side, Considers Calling Off Divorce
There have been conflicting reports about Lamar Odom’s condition. Now there are rumors swirling about Khloe Kardashian, as she sticks by her estranged husband’s hospital bed.
The Keeping Up With the Kardashians reality star immediately flew to the Las Vegas hospital once she heard the news about Lamar Odom’s collapse. The former NBA star was found unconscious at a Nevada Brothel. Now reports are claiming that Odom has opened his eyes and has responded to Khloe Kardashian. She hasn’t left his side ever since she arrived on Tuesday, Oct. 13.
Now that Lamar is reportedly out of a coma, Khloe has considered calling off their divorce, an insider told the Hollywood Life. But the alleged snitch says don’t read too much into it. Khloe’s fears of losing the love of her life probably made her rethink their future together.
“Look, it’s crossed her mind. The man she loves with every fiber of her soul is fighting for his life. Yes, of course she’s thought about calling the divorce off for a second, but then her focus went right back to him.”
Kardashian, 31, and Odom, 35, signed the divorce papers back in July, but the paperwork was never processed. Kardashian is still legally married to Odom, which means she’s in charge of all of his medical decisions. That also means that she’s also Odom’s legal next of kin. Of course making the heavy decisions and staying by his side has made Kardashian exhausted and drained, but she wants to be there for her estranged husband.
“Khloe’s in this for the long haul. She’s not though of moving from Lamar’s bedside. Khloe’s right where she needs to be – with Lamar – with her extended family. And at this point, she has no intention of leaving Lamar’s bedside.”
The NBA star is showing signs of improvement, which is a welcomed “miracle” to his friends and family. He reportedly said, “hey, baby” while he gave the youngest Kardashian sister the thumbs-up sign before drifting back to sleep. Reports have also claimed that Odom has been spending most of the day in and out of sleep while he’s continued to be surrounded by his loved ones. It’s not just the Kardashian-Jenner clan that has visited him. Odom’s family and friends have been there for him, as well.
“He’s surrounded by his kids, aunts and cousins. His room is very peaceful and filled with love. He opens his eyes, talks softly to his kids for a few joyful moments and then goes back to sleep.”
Even if Lamar Odom is awake and responsive, he still has likely suffered from brain damage. It’s been rumored that he has some brain damage, while other reports claimed that he was brain dead.
Other signs show that Khloe Kardashian’s husband is now improving. According to a TMZ report, Lamar was never without oxygen. When he was admitted to the first hospital, his respirations were six to eight breaths per minute, leading doctors to believe he wasn’t without oxygen. The normal amount of respirations is 12 to 20 breaths per minute, according to the report. Because of this, they’re hopeful that Lamar won’t suffer from serious brain damage due to a lack of oxygen. However, he did suffer from a series of strokes during his visit to the hospital. It’s unclear whether or not those strokes have left any damage to his brain.
Despite the new developments, Lamar Odom remains in critical condition, but he has greatly improved from Thursday when he was “entirely unresponsive” and was diagnosed with multiple organ failure. Doctors advised both Kardashian’s and Odom’s families that he may have trouble with simple tasks such as swallowing, talking, or walking.
