‘RHOC’ Star Vicki Gunvalson Claims Tamra Barney Started The ‘Fake Cancer’ Storyline?

RHOC star Vicki Gunvalson is at war with her former friend, Tamra Barney. Although the two women attempted to shut down rumors of a feud just weeks ago, the tension between them is clear now that the 10th season of The Real Housewives of Orange County has wrapped, and during last night’s Watch What Happens Live, the RHOC star blamed her former friend for starting the Brooks Ayers fake cancer storyline.

“I think the whole thing is pretty disgusting whether he does have cancer or doesn’t have cancer,” the RHOC star told host Andy Cohen, according to a report by Real Mr. Housewife on October 13. “You don’t ask for medical records, that’s private information.” Then, when asked if it was Barney who started the speculation into Ayers’ allegedly fake stage 3 Non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma, the RHOC star said, “Yes, it did start from Tamra. I don’t know why or how she got Scott the psychic involved in this, but it started there.”

“It just perpetuated into a whole season of ‘does he have cancer?'”

The RHOC star’s allegation came just after Barney revealed shocking information during an interview with All Things Real Housewives. While she had previously been a bit vague with her feelings towards Ayers’ cancer, she proclaimed during the new interview that she was convinced Ayers was lying about having stage 3 Non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma. According to Barney, the RHOC star’s former boyfriend’s stories were inconsistent and simply didn’t make sense.

Barney also accused the RHOC star of choosing to show her Ayers’ cancer documents in an effort to use her as a pawn to convince their co-stars, including Shannon Beador, Heather Dubrow, and Meghan King Edmonds, that Ayers truly had cancer.

“My gut tells me that she knew I didn’t know what I was reading and that I would just be their puppet and go back to the other girls and say… Brooks has cancer,” Barney claimed of her fellow RHOC star.

“I don’t think he has cancer. But that is not my problem to worry about. Lying about something like cancer when so many people are fighting it and loosing their lives is disqusting and he will have to answer to God and the two million viewers.”

Although the RHOC star split from Ayers in August, after wrapping filming on the 10th season of The Real Housewives of Orange County, the speculation into his diagnosis remains center stage both on the show and off. After filming wrapped on the reunion show earlier this month, news hit the web, revealing Ayers had sent a letter of cease and desist to fellow RHOC star Edmonds, demanding she stop running her mouth about his allegedly fake diagnosis. Still, Edmonds wasn’t afraid of Ayers’ threats, and has continued to claim his cancer appears fabricated.

In his legal letter, Ayers, who moved to Florida after his split from the RHOC star, threatened to pursue legal action against Edmonds if she didn’t stop talking about his health, and issue an apology for her allegedly defamatory claims. However, her apology deadline has come and went and Edmonds has yet to do a thing, seemingly hinting that a legal battle could soon be heading to The Real Housewives of Orange County.

For more of RHOC star Vicki Gunvalson, as well as her many co-stars, tune into The Real Housewives of Orange County season 10 reunion, starting on Monday, October 19, at 9 p.m. on Bravo.
