Robert Pattinson and FKA Twigs may have decided to further delay their wedding due to Pattinson’s busy filming schedule, but has the couple officially called off their engagement over FKA Twigs’ rumored obsession with fame?
Despite Pattinson and FKA Twigs’ attempts at dispelling breakup rumors surrounding their ongoing relationship, a new report has surfaced suggesting that Pattinson is breaking up with Twigs because of her alleged “hunger for fame.”
According to the tabloid report, Pattinson is preparing to end his engagement to FKA Twigs because she’s “shamelessly” using Pattinson’s status as an A-list actor to try and further her own music career.
The report goes on to claim that Twigs feels she is “a superstar” since beginning her relationship with Pattinson in 2014, before explaining that Robert is seeing an attitude change in his fiancée.
The questionable report concludes by explaining that Twigs’ obsession with fame is creating a “strain” in her relationship with Pattinson and is “causing problems” for the couple “behind the scenes.”
Despite claims of Twigs’ “obsession” with becoming famous, a source close to Pattinson and FKA Twigs reveals to Gossip Cop that there is “no truth” to the rumors, and Pattinson has no plans to call off his engagement to Twigs.
When asked why she chooses to be in the spotlight despite her disdain for fame and the tabloid culture, FKA Twigs admits that she’s doing it for her future children.
“I’m quite traditional,” Twigs explains of her hopes to have a family with Pattinson one day, “I’m quite happy to say, ‘Go to school, work hard on your GCSEs, do your A-levels, get married, have children.'”
Twigs goes on to reveal her plans for wanting her children and her “children’s children” to have a nice life and be proud of what she achieved with her career in music.
Similarly, Robert Pattinson recently opened up about the constant hate surrounding his engagement to FKA Twigs in an interview with NME, telling the publication that he’s confused by people’s insistence on making racist comments towards his fiancée.
Pattinson goes on to compare those who purposely spread hateful comments about people on the internet to “demons who live in basements,” before admitting that Twigs is nothing short of an “amazing, amazing artist.”
While Pattinson and FKA Twigs shocked fans with their swift engagement in April, breakup rumors have loomed over Pattinson and Twigs after sources close to the duo confirmed their decision to push back their wedding due to scheduling conflicts.
An insider close to Pattinson and FKA Twigs explains to E! News that while the couple is pushing back their nuptials due to Rob’s busy filming schedule for The Lost City of Z, everything is “just fine” in the duo’s engagement.
“They haven’t drifted apart [despite claims], but they haven’t spoken as much lately because of his filming schedule,” the source explained, shutting down rumors of Pattinson’s alleged plans to call off his engagement to Twigs.
“There most likely won’t be a wedding this year, but that has been the expectation for months,” the source concludes, noting that neither Pattinson nor Twigs are in any rush to get married.
While the Pattinson and FKA Twigs initially had plans to have a “pub-style” wedding in England for the fall, rumors are now suggesting that the couple may opt for a spring wedding after Pattinson’s filming schedule winds down.
