Ronda Rousey’s Mom Cryptically Tweets Disdain For Daughter’s Relationship With Travis Browne
Earlier this year, the MMA community went crazy when news broke of the possibility that UFC fighters Ronda Rousey and Travis Browne were an item. The reason for said reaction from fans is because of the domestic abuse allegations convicting Browne at the time. Due to Browne’s situation, Rousey was on the chopping block of being a hypocrite due to her past verbal volleys thrown at champion boxer Floyd Mayweather for his past domestic abuse convictions.
Ronda Rousey and Travis Browne’s relationship at the time was just a rumor spurned from a picture taken in which both fighters so happened to be together in a restaurant. That said, the picture may have been a misunderstanding of their relationship. However, Browne has recently confirmed he and Rousey are indeed a couple. As a result, many have given their two cents about their relationship, which includes Rousey’s mom. Through some rather cryptic tweets, she may have expressed her disdain for Rousey and Browne’s relationship.
For those who do not know, Ronda Rousey’s mother is Dr. AnnMarie De Mars. She is a statistical consultant, former world judo champion, and the CEO of a gaming company. She is a very intense individual who has no fear in expressing herself as proven from the video above. This is especially true on her Twitter. There, De Mars talks about everything from MMA to the musings of her daughters. And just recently, De Mars posted four cryptic tweets that got the attention of many.

What is peculiar about the tweets is they come within the shadow of Travis Browne making his relationship with Ronda Rousey public. This fact alone has many in the MMA community believing that AnnMaria De Mars disapproves of Rousey and Browne’s relationship.
Now to be fair, AnnMaria De Mars’ tweets do not specifically call out her daughter Ronda Rousey or Travis Browne. Ergo, the tweets do not specifically identify Rousey and Browne’s relationship either. But there is a clue De Mars is talking about Rousey. The tweets are complimented with a hashtag called #adviceFromMom. Given the fact Rousey’s older sisters are married, her younger sister is 17 and keeps her personal life private, and Rousey is the one in a new relationship, De Mars’ advice is most likely for her.
Even if the tweets are not about Ronda Rousey and Travis Browne, MMA News described the situation best — that everyone is going to be inclined to think they were. And with that inclination, people are going to discern that Rousey in some ways is not happy with the relationship. If we were to take AnnMaria De Mars’ tweets into account, Rousey gets mad whenever someone mentions her relationship with Browne, she feels the need to hide it from the people who care for her, and she avoids thinking about it too. That kind of thinking is usually associated with people in relationships they know are wrong on a societal level. Also for Rousey’s sake, she will need to get past such a state because it will most likely affect her performance when she takes on Holly Holm this coming month.
