Allison Holker Plans To Dance Her Way Through Pregnancy In A ‘DWTS’ First

News for the cast of Dancing with the Stars has been both good and bad this week. One of the show’s dancer’s, Allison Holker, has announced she’s expecting her second child, and host Tom Bergeron has bowed out for a while to care for his sick dad.

According to E! Online, Bergeron announced before Monday’s show that he wouldn’t host the episode in order to stay with his ailing father. Alfonso Ribeiro, who has been a guest judge before, will take his post for a while.

Tom told the world about his family troubles on Twitter Sunday, sharing a picture of his father and noting that he had “given me a lifetime of support. Time to return the favor.”

Ribeiro also recently replaced Bergeron as the host of America’s Funniest Home Videos.

On to the good news, which comes from one of the show’s pro dancers, Allison Holker, according to People. The mom of one told her partner, singer Andy Grammer, in the green room before taking the stage on Dancing with the Stars Monday night that she and her husband are expecting a child.

Allison has a 7-year-old daughter already, named Weslie Renae, who is thrilled to welcome a baby brother or sister into the world.

“She’s ecstatic and already prepping to be the best older sister she can be to the little girl or boy — we don’t know the sex yet. She’s always been a very helpful child, but it seems like now if I need a glass of water, she’ll be, like, ‘No, no, no mother. I’ll get it for you.’ She helps out and it has been the best energy in our home.”

Holker is four months into her pregnancy, having kept it a secret from everyone but her husband and fellow dancer Stephen “tWitch” Boss. But Andy suspected something when tWitch kept sending Holker flowers and love notes, Access Hollywood added. Now it all makes sense, though Allison assured her husband has always been the romantic type.

This will be the first child for Boss — who met Allison when the two were all-stars on another dance show, So You Think You Can Dance — and he happily announced the news on Instagram with the hashtag #babyboss. Allison did the same on Twitter, sharing a photo of her young family.

“This was such an amazing night and I’m so glad the news is finally out there. It has been so hard to keep it bottled up inside me — both literally and figuratively! I’m so excited for everyone to know and be able to celebrate with us because our whole family is just so excited about this. It’s the biggest blessing.”

And Allison also plans to dance her way through her pregnancy and plans to win this year’s DWTS; Holker was a runner-up last year.

According to Hollywood Life, the Emmy-nominated dancer won’t leave behind her partner, Andy, just because she’s expecting, saying “I want him to feel the most comfortable, but I’m here 100 percent of the way for him.”

A pregnant pro dancer will be a first for DWTS, but Allison has done it all before. During her previous pregnancy with Weslie, Holker danced all the way up to eight months because she was on tour. Very much the professional, Allison assured that she can “definitely handle it” this time.

Holker is also bursting with joy after finally spilling the beans about the new baby.

“This is what I do and what I know. If you were athletic before you were pregnant, you should stay athletic. I’m not scared of the challenge and I think it’s a beautiful thing to experience. I got so energized and so fueled. Every morning when I wake up I’m just so excited about life. Now especially, more than ever, now that everyone knows… all this happiness that I’ve had, I’ve kinda like kept it a secret… really I’ve been blowing up with all this energy.”
