Justin Bieber Reveals ‘Purpose’ As Title Of His Next Album, See Where It Was First Teased

It’s been a bumpy two years for Justin Bieber. Now, after staging a hugely impressive comeback he has revealed the title of his new album: Purpose.

The pop prince took to social media on Friday to roll out the one-word name and temporary artwork of his wildly anticipated fourth studio album, which lands November 13.

Justin also posed three Instagram and Twitter pictures of the Purpose title and the release-date related #6Weeks hashtag to his Instagram.

The images are identical except for a gradual lightening of the writing.

The Biebs’ record label, Def Jam, and his manager, Scooter Braun, shared the album news to their social media accounts.

Back in August, Billboard announced sources said Justin’s next album would touch down on November 13.

On September 2, the singer confirmed that was the case when he appeared on The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon.

The heartthrob released his comeback lead single “What Do You Mean?” on August 28 following a 30-day celebrity-assisted countdown, which he debuted live at the MTV VMAs two days later, wowing the world with an emotional performance when he broke down in tears onstage at the end of his spot.

Little did Justin Bieber fans know that the inspirational speech in the interlude would hint at the album title.

Justin’s voiceover declared, “Life is a journey. Sometimes a battle, full of the unexpected. Sometimes we focus on the destination, and forget to focus on that journey. But, when you fall, it allows you to get up stronger. It allows you not to lean on your own understanding — give in to faith,” before ending with this powerful encouragement.

“Believe in something bigger than yourself and find your purpose.”

“What Do You Mean?” went on to break Spotify and iTunes records, rack up No. 1’s in Australia and U.K.’s single charts, debuted at No. 1 on the Hot 100 chart, and is still the No. 1 song worldwide 34 days after it was released.

Earlier this week, Hits Daily Double revealed Justin would be dropping a new single one week before the album — which we now know to be Purpose — touches down.

Naturally, fans and media are now speculating what the second cut from the superstar’s new album will sound like, given reports that the album will be a mix of R&B, pop, and EDM. In other words: the single could sound like literally anything.

Earlier this year, Bieber told host Ryan Seacrest that his new album would be “along the same lines” as “Where Are U Now?” his collaboration with Jack U’s Skrillex and Diplo.

“It’s really uplifting, clear, poppy, but cool,” the superstar teased, also praising Skrillex, who has a primary production role on the album. “The sounds are super expensive. Skrillex is a genius. He’s super futuristic and I just love his sound.”

Justin said, “So to be able to incorporate that sound with what I’m doing has been super cool because it’s new and fresh. I feel like no one has done it before. I’m very excited.”

“I’ve been working a lot in the studio, just trying to have a consistent sound, a cohesive sound,” he added.

“I get in my head a lot and I get kind of depressed because I want it to work so badly. I want people to love it. I want to inspire people.”

Meanwhile, Justin’s main songwriting collaborator, Jason “Poo Bear” Boyd, told Rolling Stone magazine, that the singer’s new album is his Thriller, in terms of impact and “undeniable” quality of the material.

There are other albums releasing on November 13 besides Bieber’s. Notably, One Direction are dropping their Zayn-less fifth album, Made In The A.M.. With drama between the two artists fandoms at an all-time high, it will only get more intense from this point on.

To sum, Justin Bieber’s new album Purpose arrives in six weeks. Are you ready to make it fly Beliebers?
