Leighton Meester, 29, and Adam Brody, 35, who tend to keep their relationship on the down-low, welcomed their first child into their lives earlier this month, a healthy baby girl. Although Meester and Brody’s reps have not confirmed the news that their baby girl was indeed born, several news sources including Us Weekly , E! News , and People are reporting that their daughter was born and confirmed by unnamed sources.
The birth certificate for the Meester/Brody baby was obtained and according to the LA Times , Leighton and Adam named their daughter Arlo Day Brody . Arlo was born on August 4 in Whittier around 12:12 a.m.
Leighton Meester is most known for her role in the CW’s Gossip Girl where she played a vain princess Blair Waldorf living in the Upper East Side, and Adam Brody is remembered from the teen drama The O.C. where he loved to break people’s hearts and draw comics.
Leighton Meester and Adam Brody first met on set in 2011 for The Oranges and then costarred together in 2014’s Life Partners . In January, 2014, the couple married in a secret ceremony but never publicly confirmed that they were expecting a child together. Rumors started to swirl that the actress was pregnant after performing a concert where you could see her baby bump.
Meester spoke with Instyle U.K. last year.
“My values have shifted greatly in terms of what I find important. It’s my family, my friends, and having a personal life. Those are the things that need nurturing.”
In a Reddit Ask Me Anything back in August, Adam Brody joked about the idea of having children with Meester .
“I say 12. And I decide”
Meester hinted that she and Brody were thinking about kids in a magazine interview,
“Most people I know are starting to get married. It’ll be kids next. I like the grown-up stuff. I like having a house. I’ve got dogs. I started [Gossip Girl] when I was so young. And once it was over, I wanted to do things that were exciting and challenging and more me- more my adult taste.”
Reps for both Leighton Meester and Adam Brody have been contacted regarding Arlo Day Brody but no response has been made. Now the question is, will Leighton Meester have play days with her Gossip Girl co-star Blake Lively who just welcomed her first child, James, with husband Ryan Reynolds earlier this year.
