Jill Duggar Dillard And Jessa Seewald Are Back On TV, TLC Announces Special Updates On Duggar Daughters

It sounds like the pleas of the fans of Jill Duggar and sister Jessa Seewald have been heard loud and clear. After all of the controversy surrounding Josh Duggar and the scandal that rocked the world of the 19 kids and Counting stars these past few months, TLC is finally putting the two girls back on their network. The Associated Press announced on Thursday that Jill and Jessa are getting their own TV specials to update their fans on their lives since the cancellation of the reality show.

By the end of the year, the Duggar daughters are expected to have at least one special aired on TLC. They are working on at least two shows, if not more. Thousands of devoted Duggar fans were upset since the network was forced to cancel 19 Kids and Counting after the eldest of the brood, Josh Duggar, admitted to his sexual misconduct and was later caught cheating on his wife, Anna. Fans were hoping that at least part of the family would come back to TV.

TLC is planning to show Jill Duggar Dillard, husband Derick, and their baby son, Israel, as they do their mission work in El Salvador. Many people have wondered what this couple does while they are away doing missionary work, and this will certainly give fans a glimpse into their current way of life over there.

In addition, there will also be updates on Jessa Duggar Seewald’s first pregnancy with husband Ben Seewald. Jessa always keeps everyone updated on her growing baby bump through social media, but this will hopefully delve into her everyday life since she got pregnant and her first year of marriage as well. TLC Executive VP Nancy Daniels explained what viewers will get to see.

“What we will be following in these specials is Jessa preparing for her first child, and we’ll be watching Jill preparing to make a major move to Central America with her family, which we know is something our audience will be interested in.”

This might also explain the reasoning behind Jill and Derick’s trips back to the U.S. recently. It sounds like they were in talks with the network to see if both girls and their husbands would be on board with doing these specials. Daniels mentioned that now seemed like just the right time to have these updates on the Duggar girls, especially after the whole scandal that complicated their lives. TLC had gotten close to the family through the years, and they said they have been in contact the whole time.

“There’s no doubt it’s been a tough few months on the family, and we’ve obviously been in close contact with them as they’ve been going through it.”

AP also stressed that Josh Duggar would not have any part in this production at all. No other details are available, but more updates will be coming soon. In the meantime, you can guess the gender for Jessa and Ben’s baby and also suggest a name for him or her on their official family website.

Are you excited that Jill and Jessa will be back on TLC?
