‘WWE Night Of Champions 2015’ Pay-Per-View Results — Updated LIVE!

On Sunday, September 20, 2015, WWE will present WWE Night of Champions 2015, live at 8 p.m. EST/5 p.m. PST at the Toyota Center in Houston, Texas. For those who are unable to attend it live, it will be available for viewing exclusively on the award-winning WWE Network.

However, the Inquisitr understands not everyone in the WWE Universe (or wrestling community in general) will be able to spend the four hours to watch WWE Night of Champions 2015. Therefore, results will be presented live as they become available.

Similar to past WWE pay-per-views, the WWE is providing one match courtesy to those who do not have a paid subscription to the WWE Network. One hour before the special event, WWE Night of Champions 2015 Kickoff will take place, which will include a panel of WWE personalities and commentators, which will most likely have Renee Young, Corey Graves, Ric Flair, and Booker T (don’t hold me to that), discussing the matches at the pay-per-view. As an added bonus, it will have a pre-pay-per-view match when Neville and the Lucha Dragons take on the Cosmic Wasteland (Stardust and The Ascension) in a three-on-three tag match.

The WWE Night of Champions 2015 Kickoff can be viewed not only on the WWE Network, but also on WWE’s official website, WWE App, YouTube, Twitter, Facebook, Google Plus, Pheed, and Pinterest one hour before the actual pay-per-view.

It should be noted this pay-per-view has a specialty theme to it too, similar to how Money In The Bank features the MITB ladder match and Hell in a Cell features the Undertaker’s specialty match, Hell in a Cell. At the Night of Champions, every current title will be on the line. Given the fact that Seth Rollins is both the WWE World Heavyweight Champion and WWE United States Champion, he will be competing twice. With the exception of Royal Rumble, the only time I can think of a wrestler competing twice in one pay-per-view in this era is Daniel Bryan.

Nevertheless, the conditions of the pay-per-view may or may not effect the outcome. But it is always good for the studied WWE fan to know how the business works more so for entertainment value. The Inquisitr has published numerous articles leading up to WWE Night of Champions 2015. A select few are listed below for reading.

  • There is much speculation on who the mystery partner for Roman Reigns and Dean Ambrose will be as they take on The Wyatt Family. Could it possibly be Randy Orton?
  • Even though Seth Rollins is scheduled to wrestle twice on the card, it is believed he will not pull double-duty. Apparently, there might be a huge spoiler for Rollins’ match against John Cena that may support this.
  • Why is it that Sting is taking on Seth Rollins for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship in the first place?

Nevertheless, the following match card, shown below, is what is provided at this moment, and can change for any reason. The Inquisitr will update this article with the latest results as they become available live!

The New Day vs. The Dudley boyz (WWE Tag Team Championships) — This will probably be the “PG-13/Attitude Era” match of the night given the fact The Dudley Boyz are in it. For those who do not remember who they are, Bubba Ray Dudley and D-Von Dudley were one of the most dominant tag teams in wrestling history with about 25 tag team championship reigns throughout their career in WWE, WCW, ECW, TNA, and other smaller promotions. However, they are an older team which needs re-establishment after so long. The Dudley Boyz may or may not win the titles more so than having their presence felt. With that said, they may or may not win, but they’ll definitely make an impact. Also, The New Day just got the titles back. It would be relatively poor to make them drop the titles when they are entertaining heels.

RESULT: The Dudley Boyz defeat The New Day via disqualification.

Dolph Ziggler vs. Rusev — These two wrestlers are solid performers for what they do, but the sad reality is this story is unbelievable and quite boring, especially with Lana now out of the picture for about four months due to a wrist injury. Also, it is well-known that in real life, Rusev and Lana are in a relationship which makes the story of Rusev with Summer Rae kind of awkward in execution. Therefore, it is an uncertainty who will win tonight, but this angle surely needs to end.

RESULT: Dolph Ziggler defeats Rusev via pinfall after the Zig Zag.

Roman Reigns, Dean Ambrose and Mystery Partner vs. The Wyatt Family — The precursor of The Shield vs. The Wyatt Family continues as the fight now amps from a traditional tag team bout at WWE SummerSlam 2015 to a three-on-three tag match now. To be frank, one believes the mystery partner will be none other than Erick Rowan. It only makes sense since he is a behemoth strong man and Roman Reigns and Dean Ambrose needs one to combat Braun Strowman, the “Black Sheep” of The Wyatt Family. However, if said third partner is Seth Rollins, the arena will surely experience a major crowd pop.

NOTE: Roman Reigns and Dean Ambrose’s Mystery Partner is Chris Jericho.

RESULT: The Wyatt Family defeats Roman Reigns, Dean Ambrose, and Chris Jericho via submission with a Lifting Arm Triangle Choke applied by Braun Strowman to Chris Jericho.

Nikki Bella vs. Charlotte (WWE Divas Championship) — Now that Nikki Bella has surpassed AJ Lee as the longest-reigning WWE Divas Champion, she can finally drop the title to whomever. Charlotte, being the biggest face among NXT’s “Four Horsewomen” for being Ric Flair’s daughter, is an excellent choice for the establishment of the Divas Revolution. And for those who are wondering why I think Charlotte will win, it is because Nikki Bella has already expressed that she is extremely worn out from partaking in a WWE Divas Champion schedule. Stacking the match against her seems to be a sign she is ready to “take a break.”

RESULT: Charlotte defeats Nikki Bella via submission with the Figure-8 Leglock.

Keven Owens vs. Ryback (WWE Intercontinental Championship) — Kevin Owens is a very unique wrestler when it comes to his performance’s outcomes. He tends to lose a lot on live shows but seems to win more at pay-per-views. This means Owens wins when it counts. I think he will win this match too because Ryback is not exactly the most entertaining WWE Intercontinental Champion. Owens has the wrestling skill, the attitude, and the “pipe bomb” skills to dominate this championship. Expect Owens to win this one.

RESULT: Kevin Owens defeats Ryback via pinfall after a Rake to the Eyes followed up with a Roll-Up.

Seth Rollins vs. John Cena (WWE United States Championship) — This is a rematch from WWE SummerSlam 2015 for the title. There is no specialty stipulation except for the WWE United States Championship being on the line. Now before anyone says that Seth Rollins needs to drop the title because he is doing double duty for both belts, it should be noted that just because he holds two belts does not mean his workload will double. As a matter of fact, it is assumed this match will somehow be rectified for Rollins’ sake since he will take on Sting later on. This might be the first match of the night so he can rest or be fairly quick. Since WWE is pushing Rollins, I expect him to keep the title.

RESULT: John Cena defeats Seth Rollins via pinfall after an Attitude Adjustment.

Seth Rollins vs. Sting (WWE World Heavyweight Championship) – The build-up for this one is quite short in which WWE is heavily depending on Sting’s popularity to push the match. I honestly don’t see Sting winning this match because WWE has some active long-term investment in him wrestling. I truly think if Sting is going to win this, it is so he can actually have one championship run in WWE despite the length. Business-wise, I think this was a request in which Sting would like to hold the WWE title at least once in his nearly-retired career and I think WWE (more so Triple H) is willing to give him such a run. Now will Sting win tonight? That is an outcome I am unsure about.

RESULT: Seth Rollins defeats Sting via pinfall after countering the Scorpion Deathlock with a reverse roll-up.
