Recent reports have indicated that Kim Kardashian, Kanye West, and their daughter, North, have moved back in with Kardashian’s momager, Kris Jenner. It’s not the first time the West family has bunked up with the matriarch of the Kardashian clan, which forces us to ask why?
Why do two multimillionaires need to move into the home of a parent — on more than one occassion?
According to an interview Kris gave on Friday, Kim, Kanye, and North have moved in with her while their home is remodeled. Kris talked about the move during PAPER Radio , a show on Andy Cohen’s Sirius XM channel.
“She just got home from New York, and her and Kanye and North actually moved back in with me because they’re working on their house again.”
That’s the same line the Kardashians used last time Kim and Kanye moved in with Kris. Previously, Kimye moved in with Kris Jenner in 2013 while their $11 million Bel Air home was being remodeled.
Eventually, Kim and Kanye decided they needed a different home to meet the needs of their growing family (North was born in 2013), and they purchased a $20 million home in Hidden Hills, California. At the time, Kim talked to PEOPLE about the needs of their ever changing family.
“When we bought our Bel Air house, we didn’t have a baby, we weren’t even pregnant. After you have a baby, you realize that you need so many other things and a different kind of space. So being in the city is a different life. We wanted to be away and have more privacy.”
The Kardashian-West family is poised to change once again, as Kim is currently pregnant with her second child.
Last time around, the Keeping Up With the Kardashians star and her hip-hop husband lived with Kris for nearly a year before they moved out again. At the time, Kim said she couldn’t wait to get into a house of her own.
“I am so ready to be out of my mom’s house, you have no idea! But it will be nice to still be close.”
Perhaps being in grandma Kris’ house will be helpful once again as the Kardashian-West family transitions from a threesome to a foursome.
