WWE Night Of Champions: Is Randy Orton Joining Roman Reigns And Dean Ambrose?

When WWE Night Of Champions airs live on the WWE Network Sunday night, many fans will be more interested in the mystery partner for Dean Ambrose and Roman Reigns than they are for United States and WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins and his respective opponents John Cena and Sting.

That’s what happens when you advertise a mystery partner for two of the company’s most popular performers, who are opposing one of the most threatening stables, the Bray Wyatt led Wyatt Family.

While Randy Orton might be the most logical choice, he certainly isn’t the most popular, especially on social media.

But storylines seem to dictate that Randy Orton be the man to appear as the mystery partner alongside Dean Ambrose and Roman Reigns. Orton was attacked by The Wyatt Family on WWE Raw a few short weeks ago, reportedly writing the former world champion out of storylines for the time being. This happened shortly after reports that Randy Orton was looking to take on a reduced schedule, with more time off planned.

There is no decisive choice for the mystery partner, with fans all over social media chiming in with their choice.

Among those rumored to join the former Shield members are Kane, Chris Jericho, Erick Rowan, NXT’s Baron Corbin and the aforementioned Randy Orton. Some of the less likely choices mentioned by fans are WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins, The Rock, Samoa Joe, NXT Champion Finn Balor and Daniel Bryan.

Reports circulated last week that Baron Corbin was set to be the mystery partner, but those rumors have died down for now. With WWE NXT running events in Texas alongside WWE this weekend, Corbin would be easily available for the company if they did choose to go that route. Because of the potential news leak, Corbin may not be used in this capacity at all.

Whoever the mystery partner turns out to be, the issue between Dean Ambrose, Roman Reigns and The Wyatt Family is not likely to end at Night Of Champions. WWE presents Hell In A Cell five weeks later, and the possibility of these man (along with the mystery partner) colliding in the “Cell” structure is one that could really set this year’s event apart from the six of the same name before it.
