‘New Girl’ Season 5 Update: Here’s What Max Greenfield Has To Say About Newest Roommate Megan Fox

Latest New Girl Season 5 spoilers reveal that Megan Fox will be joining the series as a recurring character, and mainstay actor Max Greenfield just cannot hide his delight.

Zooey Deschanel’s fans have nothing to worry about because Megan won’t be replacing her on New Girl. Entertainment Weekly reports that Megan, whose character is a pharmaceutical sales representative, is the newest tenant of Jessica’s room.

The 500 Days of Summer actress won’t be joining New Girl Season 5 for its first few episodes because she gave birth to her daughter with Jacob Pechenik last July.

For those wondering if Megan can pull off her character, executive producer Elizabeth Meriwether doesn’t doubt the Transformers star’s comedic chops. She claims, “we had Megan in mind when we wrote this part.” She also shares her excitement in a statement to Deadline.

“It’s insane to me that such a gorgeous person can be so funny, but I guess we just all have to accept it… I’ve been a fan of her comedic skills since This is 40, and I’m so excited to have her on the show.”

New Girl Season 5 is Megan’s long-awaited comeback to television. Her last project for television was a decade ago when she starred in ABC’s Hope & Faith.

Meriwether previously told The Hollywood Reporter the reason for Jessica’s absence in the first few episodes of New Girl Season 5.

“Jess gets sequestered on a jury. The idea behind it was to be able to do those pastel courtroom sketches, so you could still see her in the jury. It’s a little weird, but we’re having fun with it. It’s a way to have all of the guys check in with her. They watch the news reports on the trial. And they show being set in L.A., this is a city where celebrities get into trouble and juries really do get sequestered.”

While Deschanel is away, New Girl Season 5 will focus on other characters. The pilot episode entitled, “No Girl,” for example, will revolve around Schmidt and Cece’s upcoming wedding. However, there might be a hiccup because Cece’s mother will arrive and there’s a possibility that she is against the union.

Meanwhile, there is no confirmation yet if Nick and Jess will reunite as a couple but for Jake Johnson, it’s best if the two remain as mere friends because “they kind of dominate so much of the story.”
