Fans of international football can watch live online as Barclays Premier League side Liverpool travel to Bordeaux, France, to open their 2015-2016 UEFA Europa League campaign against last year’s France Ligue 1 sixth-place finishers FC Girondins de Bordeaux, as both sides kick off the grueling second-tier Europe-wide tournament which for just the second year offers as its top prize a guaranteed spot in next years’s UEFA Champions League.
Liverpool also finished sixth last year, on the Barclays Premier League table, but currently sit 10th after two crushing losses to West Ham and Manchester United, losses that saw the Reds give woefully subpar performances that have raised questions about Manager Brendan Rodgers continued stewardship of the legendary club.

Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. Central European Summer Time at the 43,000-seat Nouveau Stade de Bordeaux in Bordeaux, France — 1 p.m. United States Eastern Daylight Time, 10 a.m. Pacific — on Thursday, September 17.
Despite what would appear to be considerable pressure on him to quickly reverse the Liverpool fortunes, Rodgers appears likely to rest many of his top players for the Europa League match in Bordeaux, bringing in subs including Frenchman Mamadou Sakho (pictured above) who would make his season debut in his home country.
Bur Rodgers says he feels no additional pressure to win the Europa League game.
“Same as it has ever been and probably what I’ve had for the last year or so. I don’t think it has increased at all. It is the pressure which comes with managing a great club,” he said on Wednesday. “It says everything that you lose a couple of games and that pressure comes, but I’ve always embraced and enjoyed that. Nothing has changed in that way. I just need to concentrate on getting the team right. Pressure is something which is part and parcel of being manager of this club.”
Can Liverpool give their season a jolt with a victory in their 2015-2016 UEFA Europa League campaign opener?
