Jessa Duggar: Top Five Scandals Of September, So Far

Despite her show 19 Kids and Counting being cancelled by TLC, Jessa Duggar can’t seem to keep her name out of the headlines. Her family’s reportedly running out of cash following the Josh Duggar molestation scandal, potential spin-off rumors keep circulating along with talk of rifts among the family. All in all, it’s been a busy month for the reality starlet.

Here are the top five Jessa Duggar scandals to hit the ‘net so far in September.

5. The Spin-Off: Hollywood Take has reported that the money-starved Duggar family has been desperately seeking a spin-off since TLC pulled the plug on their highly profitable show. Jessa Duggar and her older sister, Jill, have been the pair most rumored to be involved in securing the financial future of the family.

“We’ll see. We’ll see what life brings. We don’t know at this point.”

Both young women have publicly admitted to being among Josh’s molestation victims a decade ago. Up until recently, they’ve largely remained supportive and forgiving. This support seems to be waning, though. Particularly least when it comes to Jessa. She’s been very publicly distancing herself from her family in general and her now-notorious brother in particular, something that may be putting hopes for that spin-off in jeopardy.

4. The Madison Hack: Jessa Duggar and her withdrawal of public support for th embattled Josh brings us to item No. 4 on our list. The public was (kind of) starting to forgive Josh Duggar (a little bit) for the jarring molestation admission he made earlier this year. Then Ashley Madison was hacked. The hacking of the controversial site dedicated to helping married folks cheat left a lot of adulterers exposed in a very epic way, with email addresses and other information of its registered cheaters being made public.

Very soon thereafter, Josh Duggar tearfully apologized for being busted with a couple of accounts.

Josh was shipped off to rehab (again), and without wasting much time, Jessa joined her new in-laws in calling out her brother for his repeated transgressions, Us Weekly reported..

It seems that while she was able to forgive molestation, Jessa Duggar draws the line at infidelity.

3. Happy Birthday to Michelle: Only the Duggar clan could turn Mom’s birthday into scandal No. 3. Jessa wasn’t the root cause of the media frenzy that followed Michelle’s 49th birthday. Indeed, Hollywood Take reports that the real source of birthday stress was the family’s dwindling finances. Now that Jessa has publicly withdrawn her support of Josh, the future of the Duggar clan as a cash cow looks bleak.

Despite the division in the family, Jessa did create a sweet public shout-out to her mom to commemorate the event.

2. The Bikini: Jessa Duggar in a bikini? Flashing her immodestly attired bod all over social media? Not exactly. The Duggar girl flaunting what God gave her in a skimpy bikini wasn’t Jessa at all, but her cousin Amy. Amy just tied the knot and is honeymooning in Mexico. Her new hubby scandalized the world when he posted a pic of his new wife splashing in the hot tub.

Not surprisingly, the social media backlash that resulted from an uber-conservative Duggar newlywed, nearly naked, took cyberspace by storm. Some called her out for violating her expressed religious convictions.

Despite a lot of negativity swirling (consider the Duggar fan-base for an explanation), Amy got a lot of support, too.

1. The Baby Bump Bathroom Selfie: If you were wondering what the buzz surrounding Amy Duggar’s bikini bod has to do with Jessa Duggar and her collection of September scandals, wonder no more. While it took Amy stripping down to little more than her skivvies to provoke a (somewhat) negative reaction on social media, all Jessa had to do was share a pic of her growing baby bump.

Posing in her bathroom mirror, the mom-to-be posted an innocent-looking, 31 week selfie. It was definitely not immodest, nor was if offensive. To the untrained eye, at least.

Apparently, to the more sanctimonious Duggar “fans,” Jessa’s cute selfie was the epitome of vain sinfulness.

Pretty scandalous, right? Not really. With fans like those, it’s no wonder Jessa has chosen this time to distance herself from her famous family. Just a little bit though, because this is a girl who grew up in the spotlight.

Maybe that’s why Jessa Duggar released about 100 new wedding photos just days after Amy’s hyped nuptials?
