Skateboarding At 70 MPH: Watch Skateboarder Zak Maytum Skate Down Colorado Highway At Super-Fast Speeds [Video]

Talk about a crazy skateboarding trip. The below video titled “Raw Run: Zak Maytum,” which was published to YouTube on September 7, has gotten 1.39 million views in three days. Skating at speeds up to 70 miles per hour, Zak can be seen flying down Colorado highways to the tune of “The Four Horsemen” by Metallica overlayed on the video.

Warning: The following video contains language that might be offensive to some viewers.

Amazingly, the viral video’s description points out that it was Zak’s first run down one of the fastest runs in Colorado. On the Today show, the morning crew wondered aloud if Maytum’s actions were legal. The cohosts imagined if a deer had darted out in front of Maytum how much destruction could’ve occurred, or if a car or other object had interrupted him at such high speeds nearing 70 miles per hour what kind of a tragedy could have ensued.

“Yeah, that’s a s***-ton of goldfish.”

As the video describes in the YouTube description section, the skateboarding run that hit nearly 70 miles per hour was definitely a dangerous one. It humorously begins with Maytum looking off into a pond full of goldfish before the real scary action begins.

“We followed the boss down one of the fastest runs in Colorado. With speeds approaching 70mph, and rough-ass pavement. Be ready to have your f****** face melted. Keep in mind… This was his first run. Follow us on instagram @Venombushings or at Facebook.com/Venombushings”

As noted, when the skateboarder zoomed downhill at 70 MPH, as reported by TIME?, sparks can be seen emanating from the special gloves worn by the downhill longboarder. It is a beautiful site that Zak creates — if not a dangerous one that has plenty of people warning others not to try those antics themselves. Maytum appears to be followed by a car or some other vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed (but not enough to overtake Zak) as Maytum skateboards down the gorgeous Colorado slopes at 70 mph in the wild YouTube video.

However, now that the video has gone completely viral and authorities are likely to have witnessed the wild skateboarding ride, one wonders what will happen next. Danger aside, Zak took viewers on a thrilling ride, where they could vicariously live out such a fast skateboarding ride that seems like it belongs in the movies in a Tom Cruise action film.
