Tom Brady Confirms That Good Friend Donald Trump Sent Him ‘Make America Great Again’ Hat

Tom Brady has confirmed that the a photo of a “Make America Great Again” hat in his locker was legit and that it was sent to him by golfing buddy Donald Trump, a good friend who has accomplished “amazing” things in the world of business.

“Make America Great Again” is Trump’s presidential campaign slogan, and The Donald himself has worn the hat bearing the catchphrase at several rallies and public appearances.

Over the weekend, John Feitelberg of the Brady-boosting Barstool Sports tweeted out a photo of what purported to be the New England Patriots star quarterback’s locker at Gillette Stadium with the cap sitting in the lower right corner.

The current GOP front-runner has on several occasions effusively praised the pro football star who has had his four-game Deflategate suspension overturned by a federal judge, and it appears the admiration is mutual.

In his NFL season weekly appearance with talk hosts Dennis & Callahan, plus Minihane, on Boston’s WEEI sports radio station this morning, Tom Brady explained that he and Trump have been good friends since 2002, when the NFL QB was a judge on the Miss USA Pageant and revealed how the red Trump ball cap found its way into his locker.

“He sent it to me via RKK [team owner Robert Kraft]… I’ve known him a long time… Now that he’s running for president he sent me a hat and he gave it to RKK a couple of weeks ago so it found a place in my locker,” the four-time Super Bowl champ explained.

Although confirming receipt of the hat, Brady diplomatically stopped short of explicitly confirming whether he would actually vote for Donald Trump for president.

“I don’t know. Am I going to vote for him? That’s a very good question. Honestly, he’s a good friend, and we’ve had a lot of time on the golf course together over the years, probably not much recently, but when I was in my younger days I would have more time that I could spend doing those types of things before there were kids. We spent a lot of time golfing together …”

Tom Brady was more forthcoming about his admiration for what Donald Trump has achieved in his business career, however.

“It’s pretty amazing what he’s been able to accomplish as an entrepreneur and then as a television star and now running for political office. People who can do those types of things and transition into different arenas and still have that type of appeal and carry over — he’s obviously appealing to a lot of different people. He’s a hell of a lot of fun to play golf with.”

In the same interview, Brady also dismissed rumors that there are any marital issues between him and his supermodel wife, Gisele Bundchen.
