Andy Cohen Excited To Watch Kim Zolciak On ‘DWTS,’ Kim Also Gets Patti Stanger And Melissa Rycroft’s Support

One person who will be cheering Kim Zolciak on when she takes to the dance floor on Dancing with the Stars is Andy Cohen. Right after it was announced on Good Morning America on Wednesday morning that Kim will be dancing with Tony Dovolani on the competition’s 21st season, Andy tweeted that he “can’t wait to watch” Kim and that he’s Team Kim.

Kim replied that Andy has to come watch her live rather than just through the TV screen.

Kim also has the support of Bachelor alum Melissa Rycroft, who won season 15 of the dance competition with Tony, and former Millionaire Matchmaker star Patti Stanger.

This isn’t the first time that someone from the Real Housewives franchise, which Andy Cohen produces, has been cast on the dance competition. Lisa Vanderpump, from The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, competed on season 16 with Gleb Savchenko. Kim’s former co-star on The Real Housewives of Atlanta, NeNe Leakes, competed on season 18 with Tony Dovolani, the same pro dancer who will now be training Kim.

Kim Zolciak starred on the first five seasons of The Real Housewives of Atlanta. She left the show mid-way through season 5. She now stars in her own spin-off show centered around her family, Don’t Be Tardy, which is now in its fourth season. In an interview with HLNTV in August, Kim said that the stress of being on Real Housewives wasn’t worth it anymore when it started to compromise her health and that of her unborn baby, despite the big paycheck.

“The violence. I mean, you know Sheree [Whitfield] pulling my wig and, um, just wine glasses flying and it’s just insane to me…I never grew up around that so for me it was like really hard. And then when I was pregnant with Kash and, um, there was literally screaming and yelling, like just so much chaos. I just, I just said ‘I can’t do this anymore. I’m done.’ I knew that my blood pressure was fine until I started filming that season [season 5] and then it was like through the roof. My doctor said,’You’ve got to chill out.’ Well I had to choose my child over all of this and I just walked out, literally walked out. I walked away from well into the seven figures.”

Kim’s former co-star, NeNe, has also left Real Housewives. In June, NeNe told Us Weekly that she was leaving the show to pursue other opportunities. Those other opportunities include the ABC game show To Tell the Truth and being a celebrity guest on E!’s Fashion Police. On Wednesday, NeNe tweeted a photo of herself on the set of the fashion show.

In March, Bravo announced that NeNe Leakes and Kim Zolciak would star in a spin-off show together, NeNe and Kim: Road to Riches. Unfortunately for the Real Housewives fans who were hoping to see NeNe and Kim in action together again, Bravo has reportedly canceled the show, which was to film over the summer, due to scheduling issues.
