Janet Jackson Still ‘Unbreakable,’ Kicks Off World Tour In Vancouver

Janet Jackson started her Unbreakable World Tour last night at the Rogers Arena in Vancouver, Canada.

Janet Jackson, 49, kicked off her world tour with the new and unreleased “Burn It Up” that featured rapper Missy Elliott. The song is said to be included in Unbreakable, Janet Jackon’s highly anticipated album.

Unbreakable is expected to be released this fall and will be Janet Jackson’s first album since Discipline, released in 2008.
Missy Elliott didn’t perform at the concert, but she appeared on two massive screens while Janet Jackson performed the catchy pop number.

Before the opening number, Elliott showed support for Jackson by tweeting “positive vibes.” She then tweeted “clubbanggger” later that night, obviously referring to Jackson’s performance.

The opening night of Janet Jackson’s world tour was well received by fans. The crowd was wowed by the singer with new songs like “No Sleeep” and “Unbreakable” but was also treated to powerful renditions of past hits “When I Think Of You, ” “Rhythm Nation,” and “Miss You Much.”

Last night’s show was Janet Jackson’s first time on stage in four years. She managed to avoid the limelight and live a private life when she married Wissam al-Mana, a Qatari businessman. This summer, Jackson reappeared to announce her upcoming tour and 11th album.

The last time Janet Jackson performed on stage was for her 2011 Number Ones, Up Close and Personal Tour, so fans were pleased when she announced her world tour on May 15.

Fans who are looking to watch Janet Jackson perform during her world tour are expected to shell out more or less $143. According to Ticketnetwork.com, however, other venues like Rexall Place in Alberta are more expensive than others, with tickets priced at $312. Very lucky are her fans residing in Michigan because ticket prices of the singer’s show at the Palace of Auburn Hills are being offered at a very low $37 per ticket. More event dates and corresponding venues are expected to be announced by Janet Jackson as she carries on with her Unbreakable World Tour.
