Robin Wright: ‘House Of Cards’ Actress Calls Off Engagement To Ben Foster Again

Robin Wright and Ben Foster have called off their engagement for a second time, according to various reports. The New York Daily News claims that the couple split up a few months ago after trying to give their relationship another shot.

The House Of Cards actress met Foster back in 2011 while the two were working on the film Rampart, and they got engaged in January 2014. The two split in November 2014 but got back together earlier this year. After about eight months, the two broke things off once more.

“They gave it another go, but were still having the same issues,” said a source. “Ben was kind of immature. She couldn’t deal with him anymore.”

Robin Wright and Ben Foster got together after Wright split from her ex, actor Sean Penn, in 2010. She said that her romance with Foster really helped her move on from her failed marriage. Perhaps surprised to find love again, Wright said that she was “shocked” when Foster proposed to her last year, this via People Magazine.

“His proposal was such a shock. But we felt married anyway. We’ve been together ever since the first date,” Wright said of Foster.

For whatever reasons, the two just couldn’t make it down the aisle. As for whether or not the two are done for good, that much remains to be seen. A couple of months ago, Wright could not help gushing over her man, and she seemed extremely in love and happy with their relationship.

“Perhaps it’s not ladylike, but I’ve never laughed more, read more or come more than with Ben. He inspires me to be the best of myself. There’s so much to learn. It’s endless. How great,” she told Vanity Fair in an interview featured in their April issue.

Us Weekly reports that Robin Wright and Ben Foster couldn’t make their relationship work because of their hectic schedules.

“She got swept up in the engagement last Christmas, but then their schedules got crazy and she realized it wasn’t the right decision,” a source told the mag.

Most people know that when two people love each other, they find ways to make things work. This could mean that the two will reconcile at a later time, or that they will realize that their busy work schedules can be looked over.
