Does Taylor Swift have bad blood with Sir Ian McKellen? Aside from the media backlash and cryptic tweets from Grizzly Bear singer Edwards Droste, it's not every day that you hear negative things about America's Sweetheart. Taylor is typically known for being everyone's friend these days.
Sir Ian McKellen revealed that Taylor Swift kicked him out of his apartment a few years ago. At the Manchester Gay Pride event this past weekend, McKellen said that Swift basically kicked him out of his apartment.
During his interview with The Sun, he was asked how it feels be a part of Taylor Swift's "squad." McKellen simply responded: "I'm not."
Ian revealed that he was kicked out around the time that the "Bad Blood" singer purchased the New York apartment. Taylor's new apartment was the same one that Ian was living in at the time. Since she rented out the pad, he had to leave a month earlier than he intended to.
"Taylor Swift, when I was living in Peter Jackson's apartment in New York, bought it while I was there and I was thrown out of the apartment a month before I wanted to leave."However, Sir McKellen insists that he doesn't have any bad blood with the performer. According to him, Swift had "every right" to purchase the apartment.
"Well she bought it, she has every right to take it over, I was just lodging there for free you know."Swift reportedly purchased the Tribeca penthouse for a cool $20 million in October, 2014. Ever since then, it's become the home to her best friend, Karlie Kloss, and her famous cats, Meredith Grey and Olivia Benson. Swift's New York City pad also has seven bedrooms, 5 1/2 baths, exposed brick, rich wood paneling, and ceiling beams.
That didn't stop Ian McKellen from wanting to become a part of Taylor Swift's squad. He and Patrick Stewart sent a video reciting one of Swift's popular lyrics. The country-turned-pop star caught wind of the video and tweeted the duo, saying: "Thanks for reciting my lyrics. @IanMcKellen and @SitPatStew! You've made my day. You two are ULTIMATE Squad Goals."
Seeing the clip resulted in Taylor inviting both Ian and Patrick to one of her 1989 concerts, but The Lord of the Rings star said he had better things to do.
"Though she did ask me to appear with her and Patrick Stewart in a show in LA but I had something else to do that night."Swift doesn't appear to be bothered. She already has a long list of famous friends in her "squad" after inviting them out to her 1989 World Tour in the past few weeks. As previously reported via the Inquisitr, former Friends costars Matt LeBlanc and Lisa Kudrow were just some of the many surprise guests at Swift's Los Angeles concerts.
