Winning Mega Millions Numbers August 28: Did Anyone Win The $64 Million Jackpot?

Do you have the winning Mega Millions numbers for Friday night’s drawing? The jackpot for the August Mega Millions jackpot for August 28 is $64 million, with there no winner in the last seven drawings.

Match all five white balls and the Mega Ball and you will be tonight’s big winner. Of course, there’s always the possibility that you will have to split the jackpot with another winner who has the same numbers, but you would still have millions of dollars to enjoy.

The winning Mega Millions numbers for August 28 are 13, 35, 40, 60, 68 – MB 9, MP 4x

The last drawing on August 25 did not produce a jackpot winner (5, 44, 54, 59, 63 – Mega Ball 1). The Multi-State Lottery Association reports that there were over one million non-jackpot prize winners who won anywhere from $1 (just the Mega Ball) to $5,000 (four white balls and the Mega Ball).

The jackpot will continue to rise until someone matches all six numbers. With no winner since July 31, lottery players are hopeful that they will beat the odds (1-in-259 million) and become the lottery’s newest multi-millionaire. Fox 2 Now reports the most recent winning Mega Millions ticket was purchased in Missouri, but a winner has yet to come forward to claim the $25 million prize.

How much will you get if you win tonight’s $64 million jackpot? Winners can pick a one-time lump sum payment or a 30-year annuity, which begins after the winning ticket is validated at their state’s lottery headquarters.

Saturday night’s jackpot has a cash value of $40.2 million — after federal taxes are deducted from the prize, the winner would receive approximately $30,150,000.

The 30-year annuity payments would be based on the entire $64 million jackpot. According to USA Mega, a potential jackpot winner would receive an initial payment of $2,133,333 after federal taxes. The remaining 29 payments are sent once per year with a small percentage added for cost of living increases.

State taxes will also be deducted from the jackpot amount before payment is made to the winner. However, there are nine states that do not tax lottery prizes. According to the Tax Foundation, if you live in California, Delaware, Florida, New Hampshire, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Washington, or Wyoming, you will only have federal taxes taken out of the jackpot.

Mega Millions drawings take place every Tuesday and Friday night at 11 p.m. ET. Tickets are sold in 44 states, the District of Columbia, and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
