Online UFOlogists have spotted yet another alien UFO in an image of the Sun captured by NASA’s Solar and Heliospheric Observatory (SOHO) on August 23, 2015.
The UFO, according to UFOlogists, bears striking resemblance to the old NASA Atlas family of rockets.
However, the prolific YouTube UFO hunter Streetcap1, who first reported the sighting, warns that the presence of the UFO in the SOHO image of the Sun does not necessarily mean that the alien ship was hanging out in the vicinity of the Sun, as reported widely in previous similar sightings.
According to Streetcap1, the UFO was probably flying in space, closer to the SOHO satellite than to the Sun.
The SOHO spacecraft, launched into space in halo orbit around the Earth-Sun L1 point — a point of gravitational balance between the Earth and Sun, about 0.99 astronomical units (AU) from the Sun and 0.01 AU from Earth — on December 2, 1995, is a joint project of the European Space Agency (ESA) and NASA.
It provides near-real-time solar data for space weather forecast.
“I am going to stick my neck out here and say that does look awfully like some sort of spacecraft a few miles off from the SOHO satellite. Please stop thinking they are near the sun, if that was the case you would not see them.”
The video, uploaded to YouTube on August 26, 2015, shows the alleged UFO that Scott Waring, UFO Sightings Daily editor, describes as similar in structure to the Atlas family of rockets designed originally in the late 1950s for use as intercontinental ballistic missiles (ICBM).
They were used eventually in the 1960s as boosters to launch U.S. astronauts into Earth orbit.
Skeptics observing the SOHO image could argue that the object being touted as a UFO is just one of several specks and blotches in the image. But UFOlogists claim that UFOs are distinguishable from random flaws in NASA images due to the fact that they show evidence of artificial structural design.
As noted already, Waring points to the structural similarity of the alleged UFO with the Atlas family of rockets. Close-up of the image shows an object that looks like a rocket in flight with a glow at the tail, suggestive of a rocket trail.
According to Streetcap1 at the time, the object was definitely not space junk or a random flaw in the SOHO image because it showed clear evidence of “structure.”
“This object has structure and for NASA to dismiss it as nothing is an insult to people’s intelligence. If they post data then they must expect ufo hunters to find anomalies and share them.”
