Butler County Sheriff Richard Jones Warns Ohio Businesses Not To Hire Illegal Immigrants

Ohio Sheriff Richard Jones is warning Butler County businesses not to hire illegal immigrants. Jones authored a series of tweets earlier this week that informed business owners that if they chose to hire workers who entered America illegally, they were also violating the law, according to a report by the Blaze.

Donald Trump has vowed to deport the 11 million illegal immigrants believed to be in the United States. The number of individuals who entered the U.S. illegally is higher than the number of Americans living in some states. There are currently 11.59 million people living in Ohio.

Opponents to his immigration reform plan claim it is impossible to complete such a task in a timely and financially feasible manner. In 2014, a routine law enforcement year, approximately 1.5 million people were arrested and appeared in court in America.

The Butler County, Ohio sheriff expanded upon his tweets about businesses that hire illegal immigrants in an interview with WDTV-TV.

“If you’re an employer and you’re doing this, here’s what I’m telling you: Shame on you. If you violate the law and you cheat on taxes and you are knowingly doing this with people that are here illegally, and you knowingly do it and you encourage it, you have violated the law.”

Sheriff Richard Jones also stated that tips about businesses that may have hired illegal aliens came pouring in after his tweets.

The Ohio Jobs and Justice PAC advocates for the enforcement of federal immigration laws and tracks crimes allegedly committed by illegal aliens in the Buckeye State. One of the criminal cases highlighted by the organization’s website involves Alejandro Vasquez-Camargo. The 23-year-old illegal immigrant from Mexico was arrested for allegedly raping a 3-year-old girl.

Warren County law enforcement officers said the toddler was able to let her parents know what had happened to her, and she was taken to Children’s Hospital for treatment. Vasquez-Camargo is related to the victim and lived at the same address, according to Fox News.

As previously reported by the Inquisitr, Sheriff Richard Jones first made national headlines last year when he sent a $900,000 bill to the Mexican president demanding to be reimbursed for the 3,000 illegal immigrants who have been held in the Butler County jail during the last decade.
