Lynell Hall: 17-Year-Old Charged With Rape Of 8-Year-Old Girl, Claims She ‘Asked For It’

A 17-year-old male is behind bars following a disturbing incident involving a heinous sex crime against an 8-year-old girl. According to KRMG, the Tulsa Police Department arrested Lynell Hall on Thursday, August 20. It has been reported that Hall’s arrest follows accusations of rape after the victim told a family member about the attack. Shortly after, she was taken to a local hospital, where a sexual assault examination was conducted. The results of the exam were reportedly consistent with rape.

According to News On 6, the incident occurred while the girl was visiting a cousin’s home at a semi-abandoned apartment complex in Tulsa, Oklahoma. During the visit, she came in contact with Hall because her cousin had a group of older friends over.

Hall reportedly took the young girl to one of the abandoned apartments local residents have been known to utilize for sexual “hook-ups.” That’s where the night took a disturbing turn for the worse. Tulsa police sergeant Mike Brown recently shared details about the incident.

“At some point the suspect pulled the 8-year-old girl’s pants down and began engaging in sexual acts with her,” Sergeant Brown explained. “It is our belief that they gained entry somehow to the apartment and stayed there while the owner was out of town. It appears as though the victim was at her cousin’s home, and the cousin had some older friends that had come over as well,” Brown said. “It was clear that he understood that the child was not of an appropriate age and he attempted to minimize the crime initially before finally admitting that he had actually done what he was accused of.”

Court documents also revealed that evidence of a break-in was found at the site where the little girl was reportedly raped. However, that’s not all. When investigators questioned Hall, he admitted that they’d had “some” sexual contact, but insists he stopped when the girl asked him to. But, over time, he eventually retracted his statement and admitted that they did have intercourse, reports Mad World News. Then, in an effort to justify his own actions, he argued that the little girl was “asking for it the whole night,” the affidavit reportedly stated, according to Opposing Views.

Hall has been charged with first-degree rape for the sexual assaul of the 8-year-old girl. He is now being held in custody at the Tusla County jail. In the state of Oklahoma, a 16- or 17-year-old suspect facing a first-degree rape charge can be tried as an adult. Sergeant Brown has confirmed that Hall qualifies to be charged as an adult.
