Vanessa Hudgens: Actress Reveals Father’s Cancer Diagnosis, Asks For Prayers
Vanessa Hudgens recently revealed that her father is battling cancer.
According to NewsOXY, Vanessa Hudgens said that her dad was diagnosed with Stage 4 cancer and asked her fans for their prayers during this difficult time. The actress opened up about the disease at the 2015 Industry Dance Awards in Los Angeles last week and talked a little bit about how it has affected her life and the lives of her loved ones, namely her boyfriend, Austin Butler.
According to ABC News, Vanessa accepted the Breakthrough Performer award, and said the following during her acceptance speech.
“Last year, my boyfriend, Austin, lost his mom, Lori, to cancer, and my dad has just been recently diagnosed with stage-four cancer. And let me tell you, I hate cancer. I hate cancer with every cell of my being. This award, it means a lot to me but I dedicate it to my boyfriend’s mom… Lori, my dad, and to all the families out there who are struggling with this.”
Vanessa Hudgens was spotted in Los Angeles on Saturday and was back to work after the emotional tribute. According to Mail Online, Hudgens, 26, looked fit and fabulous — even if she was dressed down in Daisy Dukes and a tied-up tee.
“With her dark locks tied up into a bohemian-style plaited updo, she also flashed her trademark neck choker, adding a further touch of style to her lovely look. The health-conscious star carried a deep green juice in her hand to keep her nourished and feeling fresh after a busy day ‘at the office.'”
Hudgens recently finished work on the film Kitchen Sink and is slated to begin working on Grease: Live alongside Julianne Hough. Hudgens has been able to spend quite a bit of time with her dad, presumably, since her schedule is a bit more relaxed these days, at least when it comes to filming.
Meanwhile, fans have been wishing her the best and have been sending prayers and positive thoughts for her dad.
