WWE News: Finn Balor And Bayley React To Winning At WWE NXT Takeover Brooklyn

Last year, NXT R Evolution set the bar for all WWE specials. Yes, Triple H and his WWE NXT officials put everything on the table and even out-performed the WWE main roster. At that time, NXT was about to get very hot, and Kevin Owens just debuted. Overall, that night of wrestling truly began a revolution that would take the WWE Universe by storm.

Fast-forward eight months, and look at where WWE NXT is right now. They have put on two more NXT Takeover specials, completed several tours in different parts of the country, and are about to embark on a United Kingdom trip in December. WWE NXT is taking over the world.

Coming back to this weekend, it was WWE’s biggest weekend of wrestling in a long time. With the consistent success of the main roster and WWE NXT, it may be the greatest wrestling weekend in WWE history. After last night’s NXT Takeover in Brooklyn, there’s no doubt that claim will come true.

Finn Balor retained his NXT championship in an absolute spectacle against Kevin Owens. It was reminiscent of a Ring of Honor match. Owen and Balor both took horrific bumps, but lived up to the moniker of a main event. Bayley and Sasha Banks had one of the greatest matches of all time. That’s not a typo. Before any more is discussed, here are the reactions of Balor and Bayley on their respective matches.

As for Sasha Banks and Bayley, the hashtag “SashaVsBayley” trended worldwide last night. Every WWE fan who was watching the match tweeted about it with their reactions. Most of those reactions were tears of joy. Two of the four Horsewomen successfully saw that brass ring and grabbed it with both hands firmly grasped.

So, that claim about Bayley and Banks having one of the best matches in WWE history isn’t an exaggeration of their performance in the ring. It was the culmination of two courageous women who wanted to prove the doubters wrong about women’s wrestling. Set aside the storyline about Bayley being the ultimate underdog, the story was told in the ring.

That hashtag didn’t just trend worldwide, but so did the match itself. Many WWE Universe members put their reactions on social media, and it’s fair to say what the overwhelming response was.

On a night where the WWE NXT women should’ve closed the show, it didn’t matter where they were on the card at NXT Takeover Brooklyn. Bayley and Sasha Banks silenced the critics and made WWE fans cry last night. When the match ended, Charlotte and Becky Lynch came out to congratulate Bayley. After that, Banks got into the ring and hugged Bayley and all Four Horsewomen had their own version of the “curtain call.” It will be an image in WWE history that will never be forgotten.
