Coldplay’s Chris Martin, Carly Rae Jepsen And Gigi Hadid Tease Justin Bieber’s ‘What Do You Mean?’


Coldplay’s Chris Martin, Carly Rae Jepsen, and Gigi Hadid are the latest huge stars to co-sign Justin Bieber’s now full-throttle, celebrity-packed countdown to the release of his new single, “What Do You Mean?,” which drops on August 28.

The newest adds to the Biebs’ famous pals social media squad were rolled out on Friday. Fresh-faced model Gigi Hadid posed with bed hair and casual clothes, holding a hand-written sign that read, “Justin Bieber 7 Days What Do You Mean.”

“I see you @gigihadid. Thanks. #7days #whatdoyoumean,” the heartthrob captioned the snap of the face of Topshop, Guess, Maybelline, and more.

Next up was fellow Canadian, Carly Rae Jepsen, who shares a mutual manager, Scooter Braun, with Justin. The diminutive songstress was championed by the Biebs back in 2012. He endorsed her hit classic, “Call Me Maybe,” with a fun, lip-sync video starring a posse of pals including Selena Gomez and Ashley Benson, and Jepsen supported on early Believe tour dates.

Now promoting her new album, Emotion, released today in the States, Jepsen joins Tori Kelly, Ariana Grande, Martin Garrix, and Dan + Shay as the latest from Braun’s roster to come out for the Biebs as he returns to the game.

“Amazing album out now by @carlyraejepsen and she loves #WhatDoYouMean,” the 21-year-old superstar wrote alongside the Jepsen’s pic, which also promoted her record.

Without a doubt, the Most Surprising Showing Award in Bieber’s celebrity countdown goes to Chris Martin. Frontman for the hugely successful and acclaimed Brit, Indie supergroup, Coldplay, the 38-year-old is an undeniably prestigious player to back the Biebs’ return to the game.

“What Do You Mean? Chris Martin from @coldplay legend thanks #7days,” Justin wrote by the father of two’s photo, showing him holding up one palm scrawled with “Justin Bieber 7 days.”

Along with the ongoing countdown, Bieber hyped up fans by revealing the lyrics of “What Do You Mean?” He sent one line to 49 Beliebers via DMs from his Twitter account early Wednesday. Thousands of fans put the track’s lyrics order together with the help of clock time clues. A handwritten-style post was later uploaded to Justin’s website.

Ever since Justin hit up On Air With Ryan Seacrest last month to announce his new, “up-tempo,” “summery” single and kick off his 30-day countdown, it’s been interesting seeing who turns up in the diverse roll call.

With stars including James Corden, Mariah Carey, Travis Scott, Ariana Grande, Shaquille O’Neal, Fifth Harmony, Luke Bryan, Ed Sheeran, Meghan Trainor, CL, Alanis Morissette, Little Mix, Ashley Benson, Tony Hawk, Christina Perri, professional wrestler Dylan Bostic, Hilary Duff, 21 Pilots, Ryan Sheckler, Will Ferrell, Jack and Jack, Hailee Steinfeld, Usher, Ellen Degeneres, Ashton Kutcher, and more enlisted, it’s clear Team Bieber are eager to not only reach Justin’s teen, female fanbase, but also other age groups and fans from a variety of music genres and pop culture interests.

Even Charlie “See You Again” Puth has endorsed the Biebs’ new single.

“What Do You Mean?” is the lead single from Justin’s next studio album, which is set for release on November 13. The singer is heading to Montreal’s Beachclub to host a party the day before performing at the Billboard’s first-ever Hot 100 Festival on Sunday, Aug 23, where he will also play “Where Are Ü Now,” his collaborative banger with Jack Ü’s Skrillex and Diplo.

Sonny Moore is the primary producer on JB’s new album. Kanye West and the legendary Rick Rubin are also involved in the production.
