WWE Rumors, Spoilers: Top Five Rumors Heading Into ‘SummerSlam’ — Sting, Sheamus, The Rock, More

WWE will present a giant four-hour SummerSlam on Sunday, and the card is now set and in place with 10 huge matches. So much could end up happening and the betting odds have wagers going wild, but there still could be so much more. Lots of speculation is going around, but let’s check out five of the top rumors circulating ahead of this weekend’s Summerslam.

Different matches have been rumored, and pecial appearances have been speculated. There is so much that could end up happening, and even if none of this does go down, it’s still going to be a great event.

Then again, any of them could happen.

1. Sting shows up and does something or gets involved somewhere

Sting has been rumored to have a match, get involved in multiple matches, or just show up at SummerSlam. If he doesn’t make his return on Sunday, look for him soon, as he will likely be a part of Night of Champions.

If he does show up, though, it’s going to be during the Wyatt Family’s match or the main event between The Undertaker and Brock Lesnar.

2. Sheamus cashes in his Money in the Bank briefcase

It may seem a little too early, and Sheamus vs. Randy Orton was just added to the card three days ago, but it could happen. It’s rumored that no matter what happens in the “Winner Take All” match between Seth Rollins and John Cena, Sheamus could head out to cash in his briefcase.

3. Chris Jericho returns to WWE television

The Ayatollah of Rock and Rollah has been doing his own thing at house shows and sticking around with WWE, but he hasn’t appeared on TV in a long time. He did an interview with Sports Illustrated where he spoke about being there when WWE needs him.

“When it comes time for me to be full time, we’ll figure out what I’m going to do and I’ll come back.

“The invitation is there 365 days a year. It’s not like I’m auditioning for a job with the WWE. It’s the other way around, ‘Give us as many dates as you can. You want to just work weekends? Do it. You want to just work TV? That’s fine, too.’ They leave it up to me, and I like working the schedule I’m on now.”

4. Ric Flair accompanies Charlotte to the ring

The Hall of Famer isn’t expected to do a whole lot if he does show up at SummerSlam, but he is in town and may appear to support his daughter. It’s known that he is in town because he was having a good time with another legend.

5. The Rock invades SummerSlam

Roman Reigns may have spoiled this bit of news, but there is still no confirmation that the “Great One” is coming to SummerSlam. Then again, out of all the rumored big names appearing, he would be the one most likely to show his face.

Bonus — Kevin Nash, Scott Hall, “Stone Cold” Steve Austin, or anyone else shows up

Other names rumored to show up are The Outsiders, Scott Hall, and Kevin Nash, but they may be more likely to appear at NXT Takeover: Brooklyn. “Stone Cold” Steve Austin is obviously in New York as well, but he’s expected to only be there for WWE 2K16 promotion.

WWE SummerSlam is going to be a gigantic event and one that will be truly memorable, but the rumors are driving fans crazy. Which ones could come true and which are simply speculation? All that will be revealed on Sunday night.
