Zayn Malik’s Ex, Perrie Edwards, Breaks Down Singing ‘The End’: Former One Direction Singer’s Split Still Hurts [Video]

Zayn Malik split from Perrie Edwards, but a video shows Perrie as she breaks down singing “The End” with her group, Little Mix. Trying to celebrate her girl band’s fourth anniversary in New York after Zayn ended their engagement, the 22-year-old singer showed her pain from Malik’s breakup, reported People.

Edwards’ breakdown came when “The End” song’s words about missing someone, love, and ending a relationship became too personal for her to continue without crying.

“And I won’t be missing, missing you / And no one can love you, the way I used to do / But love isn’t fair (Love isn’t fair) / And I swear (This time I swear) / That this time / This is the end,” read the lyrics that caused Zayn’s decision to break up caused his ex to weep.

A fan’s tweeted video clip shows Malik’s ex-fiancée halted by her tears when she tries to sing that love isn’t fair. Edwards then found herself embraced for her attempt to sing “The End” by the other Little Mix singers Jesy Nelson, Jade Thirlwall, and Leigh-Anne Pinnock.

It was Nelson who tried to clarify what had happened.

“It’s been a long day, and we’ve had no sleep, so I think this is why this has happened. We’re just very emotional,” Jesy shared.

But the audience showed their love for Zayn’s ex.

“We love you, Perrie!” yelled the crowd.

Malik’s ex received various comments about the scene. Some fans who watched the video moment as Edwards breaks down singing “The End” questioned whether it was fake, reported the Daily Mail.

But many defended Perrie.

“Perrie can’t even cry without y’all saying it’s fake, let her live,” declared @lerriestan.

“Perrie is really hurting,” chimed in a fan. “That video made me want to hug her omg.”

Edwards and Zayn were together for more than three years. But Perrie claimed that she was enjoying life in the United States despite her heartbreak over breaking up with Malik, who previously was a member of One Direction.

“Do you know what? I’m good. I’m having an absolute blast in America, things are going so well, and I just wake up every day and I thank my lucky stars I have these three girls,” said Edwards of her girl band buddies.

Perrie and Zayn’s house in London is up for sale at £4.2 million. They lived there for only two months.

As the Inquisitr reported, some questioned whether One Direction was gutted after Zayn Malik broke little girls’ hearts around the world with his decision to exit, stage left.

But One Direction emphasized that it’s fine.

“Gutted [but] 100 percent committed,” summed up the group.
