Amber Portwood Responds To ‘Drug Ring’ Accusations

Amber Portwood has been targeted by drug ring accusations. According to an August 17 report by Starcasm, a fan online believed Amber Portwood was the Teen Mom involved in a recent blind item revelation, which claimed one of the franchise’s stars was selling drugs.

“This Teen Mom is caught up in something that will bring her crashing into a harsh reality,” the blind item reportedly read. “A drug ring. Not coke or anything like that but prescription pills, steroids and other illegal items. She thinks she is in love so just goes along with it all.”

At the bottom of the allegation, Amber Portwood and fiancé Matthew Baier’s names were listed.

In response to the article, Amber Portwood’s brother, Shawn, tweeted, “This is dumb. [Amber Portwood] is not doing anything.”

Amber Portwood also addressed the report herself, telling fans, “wtf is this bull***t! I’ve never been so angry!! Immature ignorant dumb s**t lol!”

Amber Portwood was involved with drugs years ago, which she’s admitted to in past interviews, but after serving 17 months in prison, she has maintained her sobriety.

After being released from custody in Indiana in November, 2013, Amber Portwood began dating Baier. Then, while filming the fifth season of Teen Mom, which was renamed Teen Mom OG, Amber Portwood and Baier became engaged.

Meanwhile, Amber Portwood’s ex-boyfriend, Gary Shirley, the father of her 6-year-old daughter, Leah, has moved on, as well, and during Season 5, he welcomed his first child with girlfriend Kristina Anderson.

As for Amber Portwood and Shirley’s co-parenting relationship, things between them appeared fairly civil on the show, but when it came to custody, Amber Portwood claimed to want more rights. As the Inquisitr previously reported, Amber Portwood may be heading for a custody battle with Shirley after filing for joint custody. Below is what she revealed to MTV months ago.

“I think Leah would adjust to joint custody very well. We do it now. We practice it now. So, it isn’t a change, it’s just legal. I don’t feel any less of a mother, because I know I’m a good mom to her, and we have an amazing relationship and anybody watching this can see it, but I want to feel like I have some control.”

Amber Portwood and the cast of Teen Mom OG are rumored to be in production on Season 6, although MTV has yet to confirm the series’ renewal.
