Selena Gomez Is Definitely Not Singing About Farting

Selena Gomez clarified some song lyrics recently, much to the amusement of her fans, saying that she doesn’t think the inferred lines are very sexy.

In her new single, titled “Good For You,” Gomez opens with a line that Scott Mills of BBC Radio 1 says sounds a lot like “farting carrots.” In an interview with Selena, Mills said that many of his listeners have been wondering what the real lyrics are.

“Well, wouldn’t that just start the tone really sexy? And like that’s what you wanna hear a girl say! It’s also because you guys have the accent, so it does kind of sound like that, for sure,” Selena Gomez said before clarifying that the words are “I’m a 14-carat.”

Gomez has been seemingly everywhere lately, between being spotted reportedly filming a new video to her various magazine shoots, and has made headlines with her rocker-vibe style. Gomez has been seen flashing a lot of skin in unexpected places — such as a high-low top with black leather pants and an asymmetrical dress that showed off her toned legs — and continues to be a trendsetter with fans.

While much of the news concerning Gomez is flattering, the 23-year-old star took to Instagram earlier this year to tell her fans that she gets tired sometimes of reading things about herself online that aren’t true.

“Sometimes I get frustrated when I hear lies about who I am. The Internet is meant to keep you ‘updated’ but it just takes old news and freezes it like it’s now. You have watched me in pain and I’ve owned up to it through my music and actions,” Gomez said.

Selena’s newest song may be difficult for some listeners to understand, but it’s a hit anyway, and the fact that A$AP Rocky contributed may be a factor. While Gomez says she hasn’t gotten to meet him yet, she has been a fan of his for a long time and decided to ask if he would be interested in collaborating with her. After steeling herself for a refusal, she says he loved the song and changed it up a little bit for the better.

“I just got his new record; I’m a huge fan of his anyhow. I was listening to the new record and I was figuring out the first single at that time, and ‘Good For You’ ended up being the first single. I just found his number through our people and I texted him and said, ‘Hey, huge fan. Would you check out the song? I would love to see if you know you’d want to do anything with it.’ And he loved it. So, I was totally prepared for a ‘No, I’m good. Thank you.’ It was so great and he changed some of the production of the song which made it better, and I let him have like full on freedom with everything. It was really fun,” Selena Gomez said.
