Be ready to choose if you want to be part of the dark side or the light side with the new Star Wars: The Force Awakens CoverGirl makeup collection.
On Thursday, CoverGirl officially announced the Star Wars makeup line, which was teased a month ago, as reported by the Inquisitr.
CoverGirl, in partnership with Disney and Max Factor, debuted two new looks inspired by Star Wars: The Force Awakens. It is the first collaboration among the brands, and CoverGirl recruited P&G’s Global Creative Director and renowned celebrity makeup artist Pat McGrath to come up with Star Wars looks for both the dark side and the light side.
As of writing, only two of the six Star Wars-inspired looks have been revealed on the CoverGirl Star Wars Tumblr, and judging from the galactic and high fashion looks of the models, the other four are sure to be out of this world.
As Nerdist reports, the CoverGirl Star Wars: The Force Awakens makeup collection consists of six liptstick colors, 10 tubes of mascara, and three colors of nail polish – and they are anything but ordinary.
For starters, you won’t see any cutesy pink shades. Instead, you can choose from Nude, Silver, Lilac, Red, Gold, and Dark Purple. And though there are 10 mascara tubes available, the only difference is that the tubes with light quotes are waterproof, whereas the tubes with dark quotes are not. You may want to grab all 10 if you’re a Star Wars fan, as each tube has a different Star Wars quote on the container.
- May the force be with you
- Do, or do not. There is no try
- You’re my only hope
- I feel the good in you
- Luminous beings are we
- I will finish what you started
- There has been an awakening
- Indeed you are powerful
- You will meet your destiny
- Immune to the light
For your nails, you can choose from Red Revenge, Nemesis, or Light.
Working on the CoverGirl Star Wars collection is somewhat of a dream come true for McGrath, who is a Star Wars fan herself, as she told the Huffington Post.
“I watched my first film as a young girl and, like the rest of the world, was completely blown away. I immediately fell in love with the storyline, the never-before-seen special effects, and the amazing hair, makeup, and wardrobe of Princess Leia, Luke Skywalker, Hans Solo, Darth Vader, and all of the other characters.”
There is no word yet on when the other Star Wars: The Force Awakens looks will be revealed. You can get your hands on these Star Wars products online on September 4, Force Friday. They are scheduled to hit U.S. shelves in mid-September. Those in Asia, UAE, and Europe can also expect some limited edition Star Wars products in Max Factor stores later this year.
