‘Days Of Our Lives’ Spoilers: A Familiar Face Returns To Salem

Days of Our Lives fans are about to get back a beloved character. Steve “Patch” Johnson is returning home to Salem, and viewers will get their first glimpse of Steve later this month when he comes home and brings with him his now teenage son, Joey, who has run away from home and his mother, Kayla Brady.

According to Celeb Dirty Laundry, actor Stephen Nichols, who has played “Patch” off and on for decades recently revealed that Steve will make his official debut back on Days of Our Lives on August 28, and encouraged fans to tune in for his big return.

Over the next few months leading up to the soap’s big 50th anniversary in November, Days fans are in for a wild ride and it all starts with Steve’s return. Characters are going to be shuffled in and out like crazy as a new murder mystery plot begins to kill off some Salem residents and bring home some familiar faces.

Characters who are set to return along with Steve “Patch” Johnson include his best friend, Bo Brady, played by Peter Reckell, Bo’s son, Shawn Douglas Brady, played by Jason Cook, Shawn’s wife, Belle Black, portrayed by Martha Madison, Sami Brady, played by fan favorite actress Alison Sweeney, Philip Kiriakis, Andre DiMera, and many more.

Unfortunately with the old faces returning to Days of Our Lives, some other characters will be leaving the show. Freddie Smith, who plays Sonny Kiriakis, is leaving this month, along with the characters of Serena Mason and Xander Cooke. Other characters rumored to be leaving Salem include Clyde Weston, Daniel Jonas, Aiden Jennings, and Paige Larsen.

It will be interesting to see which characters the new writers decide to kill off, and which ones will simply leave town possibly to return at any later date.

In addition to the old characters returning, and big casting shake ups at Days, some of Salem’s youngest residents will be rapidly aged, which is something that soap opera fans know a lot about. Characters such as Claire, Sierra, Theo, and of course Steve and Kayla’s son Joey, will all now be teenagers, the Days of Our Lives spoilers and forum Facebook page reveals.

As previously reported by the Inquisitr, another big departure has been rumored among DOOL fans, and speculation that Guy Wilson, who plays Will Horton, is leaving the show has been circulating around the internet. However, no confirmation either way has been given.
