Doctor Who‘s new season is almost upon us, and just when we’d gotten over the excitement of the tease showrunner Steven Moffat and company gave us with the first trailer, they go and drop another one with a little over a month to go. It’s deliciously cruel, but it should give fans enough to chew on until the first episode of Doctor Who‘s ninth season premieres.
Take a look and see a little more of what Doctor Who‘s got in store for us.
The Doctor (Peter Capaldi) is just as sassy as always while taking out the bad guys and saving the world, over and over.
As we saw in the first trailer, the Doctor gets to play a guitar but in this new tease we get to see a lot more moments where he seems to be playing up some kind of a rockstar personality. That should be an interesting episode, especially when we find out what playing a guitar has to do with saving the world.
The Doctor threatens a villain by telling them that their story is ending. He rides a horse with determination. Oh, and of course, he runs. There’s always running.
When a Dalek asks, “What is happening?” The Doctor gives a glib reply.
“Same old, same old. Just the Doctor and Clara Oswald in the TARDIS.”
But what with everything else we see in this trailer, some fans think there’s a lot more going on in the upcoming season than that.
Season 9’s villains include returning baddies — the Daleks, the Zygons, and of course, the Doctor’s nemesis, the Master, or Missy (Michelle Gomez), in this incarnation — along with some new ones, including mud beings with eyeballs in their hands, fire-breathing lion men, robots with welding masks, and a dragon.
The most interesting tidbit we get, though, is a glimpse of Skaro, the homeworld of the Daleks, despite the fact that it was supposedly destroyed by the seventh Doctor, as well as seeing Missy alongside the squat bad robots with the monotone voices, making us jump to the conclusion that they are, perhaps, working together.
That can’t bode well for the Doctor.

Clara Oswald (Jenna Coleman) is back, and now she appears to be a bada**. She’s got a rocket launcher and a knife at the ready.
Though, when she finds herself walking alone among a crowd of Daleks, she doesn’t look too confident. Fortunately she’s still got a lot of faith in the Doctor.
“He hasn’t got a plan yet… but he will have, and it will be spectacular.”

We see a lot more of Maisie Williams in her mysterious role than we did in the first trailer.
Moffat has stated that she plays a new character in the Doctor Who universe and she clearly walks a fine line between good and evil — we see her by Clara’s side in one scene while in another, she has a totally different look while in the company of a scary looking, fire-breathing lion man.
Could Arya Stark be crossing over?
