French Students Tried Dissolving Classmate In Acid After Killing Her

Three French students are making headlines for their gruesome use of corrosive acid in an apparent mimicry of the hit show, Breaking Bad. The Dreamin’ Demon reports that the three male students allegedly murdered 23-year-old classmate Eva Bourseau in order to take more than $6,000 in drug money.

The attack on the young woman was brutal. When her classmates realized that she didn’t have the money to pay the drug debt, they beat her to death using brass knuckles and crowbars. Once they were done committing the grisly murder, they attempted to dispose of her body in the same manner that Walter White’s character did with his victims in the early seasons of Breaking Bad. They attempted to dissolve her corpse in a plastic bin full of acid. They set up their macabre lab in the 23-year-old student’s apartment, filling the room with air freshener over a course of at least two days while checking to see if she had dissolved.

Metro News UK reports that the young woman’s mother became concerned when she wouldn’t answer her calls. That is when she decided to check on Bourseau at her apartment, stumbling upon the ghastly scene. A police inspector gave a statement to the media about the grim killing.

Acid and a plastic trunk were used to disintegrate the body, so that evidence would disappear. This followed the accused killing the victim in the most brutal manner possible.

Eva Bourseau was a gifted art history student before her life was tragically taken in a drug-fueled murder. The three young men accused of slaying her have been described as “gifted” math students. Two of the suspects were arrested at the home of the victim, and the third arrested later. They are expected to face trial some time this year.

This is not the first time acid has been used to commit gruesome crimes. In 2012, it was discovered that Mexican cartel members had dissolved the bodies of San Diego murder victims in barrels full of the caustic substance. Also in 2012, the parents of a 15-year-old girl used acid to punish her for talking to a boy. The Inquisitr covered the heartbreaking case.

So, does dissolving a human body in acid really work? If it truly did, would these individuals ever be found out? According to a 2013 report on Today, the guys from the Discovery Channel show MythBusters took their own look into the possibility. The crew used Hydrofluric acid to test whether or not Walter White’s character in Breaking Bad really knew what he was doing. The verdict? The substance was able to liquefy materials like drywall. However, a piece of pork (to mimic human flesh) wasn’t completely dissolved. In fact, it only softened a little bit.
