Trump’s Carly Fiorina Insult Proves The Dark Horse GOP Candidate Has Arrived

The Trump Carly Fiorina insult now playing through the Twitterverse is proof positive that the GOP’s Dark Horse — and possibly it’s best bet to beat Hillary Clinton in 2016 — has arrived.

Fiorina was an afterthought prior to last Thursday’s undercard debate, but an impressive showing in which she buried fellow candidates like Rick Perry and Bobby Jindal has placed her at the top of Google searches ever since, and it’s won her support among the mainstream Republican base.

That said, she still was not allowed to sit at the big kids’ table, so to speak, when the main event debate rolled out later in the evening.

That’s about to change, and there is no better proof of that than Sunday’s new Trump Carly Fiorina insult. That’s right “the Donald” is back to his old ways of lambasting anyone and everyone, who is critical of him.

Fiorina was just that, following Trump’s remarks that Megyn Kelly had “blood coming out of her wherever” in an interview with CNN’s Don Lemon.

Most pundits and press personalities took that to mean menstrual blood, though Trump later verified that he meant nose, and that his critics were a “bunch of deviants” for suggesting that he meant otherwise.

Fiorina was one of those critics, calmly telling the press that the inappropriate remark wasn’t a surprise coming from the Donald.

This is how Trump responded.

This is vintage Trump, as demonstrated in this hilarious image from TIME’s online Trump insult generator.

Note how similar this faux insult is to the real one tweeted above. I digress.

The point in all this is that yes, Donald Trump is a frontrunner for the Republican nomination, but prior to Thursday night, less than half of Republicans had even heard of cancer-survivor Carly Fiorina, her business background, or the heartbreaking loss of her child.

Now Trump is having to acknowledge her, and even though he says she has “no chance,” the fact that this change has occurred proves the well-spoken candidate may have more of a shot than anyone thinks.

And Donald Trump isn’t a stupid man. He probably knows this, which is why he’s now gone on the offense against her.

Do you think the Trump Carly Fiorina insult is an indication that Carly will be higher in the polls this week, and does she have a chance at beating Trump? Sound off in the comments section.
