‘High By The Beach,’ Lana Del Rey’s ‘Honeymoon’ Single Leaked

The new Lana Del Rey single has been leaked and it is hot!

“High By the Beach” is the brand new single by Lana Del Rey from her forthcoming third studio album, Honeymoon. It’s a haunting, melodramatic, ethereal, synth-style single with a catchy and enthralling quality.

Almost like velvet on the ears, Lana Del Rey has gone back to her original sound after admitting that she might have taken her evolution a bit too far on her last album, Ultraviolence.

The song was leaked on Saturday, two days before it was scheduled to be released on iTunes and premiere around the world. It appeared on YouTube earlier in the day, but was removed due to copyright laws. It can still be listened to over at Direct Lyrics. The audio is available just below the article.

Although the lyrics get a bit repetitive, the meaning is clear just below the surface.

It’s a scathing break-up song. The tone of voice Lana Del Rey uses throughout the song evokes sadness and longing in the listener, as if each word were meant to bring up memories of relationships lost and disappointing partners from the past.

“Boy, look at you, looking at me / I know you know how I feel / Loving you is hard, being here is harder / You take the wheel / I don’t wanna do this anymore / It’s so surreal, I can’t survive / If this is all that’s real / All I wanna do is get high by the beach / Get high by the beach, get high / All I wanna do is get by by the beach / Get by baby, baby, bye, bye / The truth is I never / Bought into your bullsh*t / When you would pay tribute to me / Cause I know that / All I wanted to do is get high by the beach / Get high baby, baby, bye, bye / … / Everyone can start again / Not through love but through revenge / Through the fire, we’re born again / Peace by vengeance / Brings the end”

Only a few days ago, Lana Del Rey shared the calming and tropical image that would go with her next album and the single “High By the Beach.”

Honeymoon by Lana Del Rey will most likely be out some time in September. The singer announced the record’s approximate release date during a performance on her Endless Summer Tour.
